Game Updates
BaseWars attempts to enliven baseball by using robotic players and combat sequences, but doesn't alter the fundamental rules of the sport enough to make it much different than any other game based on America's pastime. The graphics are notable because the batter and pitcher are larger than in other NES baseball games, but unfortunately are only rendered in either solid red or blue. Fielding is nearly impossible due to a screen that scrolls too slowly to keep up with fast-moving balls, and the one-on-battles for close outs are little more than exercises in button mashing.
