THE BAD:
Annoying music & sound effects. Doesn't even have the original game!
SUMMARY:
Robotron 2084 made a name for itself in arcades for fast action & dual-stick control. Now it's been brought back and updated for N64. Gameplay really hasn't changed much-run around, shoot everything that moves, save the last human family. This version updates graphics and gameplay with power-ups, level warps, bonus rounds, and new enemies-plus boss battles! There's also a good 200 levels as well.
Controls are like the arcade version and can be configured to your liking as well, important because you need to be able to shoot in one direction and move in another at the same time. SUMMARY:
i have played all my n64 games to death, robotron and goldenye are the only ones i am still bothered to play. r64 has an excellent techno soundtrack, check out track 7. The save-game system is a bit lousy. This game is FAST and it doesnt stop.
If you are a new-skool gamer who only cares about polygon counts and special fx, then you will be disapointed by the graphics. If you play for fun then i can assure you that THIS GAME IS FUN.
After you have played like 50 levels of this game you go into a "kill-all-robots" trance and you can't put the controller down. Save the humans, kill the robots, repeat. Excellent fun.
