Pokémon Puzzle League

THE BAD:
......because nothing moves.
Just a rip-off of Tetris Attack.

SUMMARY:
In what may be the most addicting N64 game of all time, PPL does not disapoint. The graphics are just amazing. Why? Because they are all just static images from the TV show. The only thing that really moves are the blocks rising from below. I just like the degree of addiction the game comes foward to. The music is just your basic Psuedo/Anime soundtrack. It can either be good or bad. In fact, I found out that this is just Tetris Attack in Pokemon filling! Why is there nothing new? Why did they steal it in the first place? That gets me suspicious. This game is still quite entertaining, and will never ruin your evening.

THE BAD:
Frusratingly hard at points
Can feel a bit random

SUMMARY:
Graphics: Pretty colorful, with some really nice cut-scenes. You can't ask for more from a puzzle-game, really.

Sound: Really nice music, with tons of different tunes. The sound-effects are allright as well.

Gameplay: Good concept, many options and modes, pretty high difficulty and it can be quite as exciting as a shoot-em-up. Satisfying multiplayer-mode too.

Lifespan: Takes a long time to really master, and you can make your own puzzles too. Then there is the multiplayer.

Overall: Maybe the N64's best puzzle-game, both puzzle-freaks and Pokemaniac's are well adviced to check it out.

THE BAD:
Mimic's tetris attack

Ripped off Tetris Attack...not really ~bad~ as Tetris Attack is a great game, but more...Shameless? Money Grubbing? Lazy. Yes 'lazy'.

SUMMARY:
This is a great little puzzle game. It's got all the right elements. It's seems simple, and it is, if you just want to clear blocks, but there are skills to master if you really want to be good. The pieces rise upwards in solid horizontal rows, and instead of trying to move a piece into a group, you have to play it like one of those number shuffle cards. This is an excellent game to pick up for your kids, and you can play right along with them - Finally a Pokemon game that you can sit through with your kids and not want to strangle Picachu, and all he stands for. If not for the low rating this game gets under originality this game would rank an easy 4.5 but since Nintendo just decided to re-release an old game with pokemon slapped on it, it gets a 3.5.
