THE GOOD: All 29 NBA Teams included. Real NBA players with stats based on their actual NBA performances. A few mascots included. Lots of hidden NBA players & Midway personalities.
THE BAD: Very poor graphics. Very choppy frame rate. Limited and often off-sync audio. High difficulty level.
SUMMARY: The followup to NBA Hangtime, Showtime attempted to follow in the footsteps of its popular predecessor but fails miserably. Although it is modeled after the arcade version, there are problems right away-no player intros like in the arcade version, entire frames of animation are skipped in dunk sequences, the announcer acts like he's 3 seconds behind, and even on the lowest skill level, the CPU is very hard to beat. The only upside is the create player option with extensive stat tracking of almost every key stat possible. There's no real reason to recommend this title, especially if you have or can find a copy of Hangtime instead. Get that one and leave this title in the old bargain bin.
