THE GOOD:
Lots to unlock, really fun gameplay, one of the best sports games you'll find, fun multiplayer, lots of characters to choose from.

THE BAD:
Nothing.

SUMMARY:
Here we have Mario Tennis, which is definitely a game that you'll be guaranteed to have a lot of fun in, even in one player mode. You can select to play as a Mario, Luigi, Toad, or any other of your favorite Nintendo characters to face off against an opponent in a fun game of tennis.

The gameplay itself allows you to either play against one person in a one on one, or you can even take it to the multiplayer level and play two on two. I really find it a lot of fun because my friends and I have lots of fun with this. I also never used to really be into any type of sporting game other than basketball, but this has changed my mind because of the fact that its so much fun. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to have a fun time playing a game with friends or by yourself. It has it all.

THE GOOD:
One of the best Mario Sports games ever created. Mario and the gang just made tennis a whole lot more exciting. Before this game, I wasn't much of a tennis fan, but after playing this game I came to realize that tennis isn't a bad sport and it's worth a try.

THE BAD:
Difficulty. Way to easy and I beat the single player tournaments in 3 days. Well, it was a long game but fairly easy.

SUMMARY:
Some basic things you might want to know about this game:

1-4 players that include tournaments, practice, ring shot, etc.

Simple, yet realistic play control. Consists of different types of shots like long lobs, volleys, backhands blasts, and varying degrees and styles of spin.

16 playable characters including Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess, Bowser, Baby Mario, Waluigi and more. They all have unique attributes of power, speed, control and spin.

Final say: Go out and buy it. It's worth the money and if your not a fan of tennis, well I'm sure Mario could change your mind and you might have a different view of tennis. Check this game out.

THE GOOD:
Awesome gameplay and charecters
Great bonus games

THE BAD:
could use more people

SUMMARY:
This game is the best Tennis game I've played on any consule. It's so addicting. They got lots of the other mario games charecters in it. The cameras where nice and I thought that the music was good too. There are tons of unlockables like tournaments, statiums(or other places to play tennis)charecters, and features. I thought that the bonus games like the pirana plant thing and the rings were awesome as well. Bottem line, this is a must have game for all Nintindo 64 users. There is also a place where you can play at Bowsers castle where you're on a tennis court that is hung over lava swaing back and forth. And you can get items buy hiting a box over the net to throw at your opponent.

THE GOOD:
This is one of my favorite games to say the least. So many things to do in it, and by far the best tennis game I have played. Fun to unlock things and make your own tournaments. A lot of fun and very addicting. Camera's are good, characters are great...And once you think your done, there is much more to do, like a hidden tournament or 3. And you can play unique games using internet codes. There is even a mode that closely resembles Mario Kart 64!

THE BAD:
I would have loved to see all the people in the game be players. They missed the camera guy and bombs.
There could have been more people or other things to unlock also.

SUMMARY:
If you get this game, you will be playing it for years to come. It is a great game and well worth the money. Better be a sequel one day. Earns a 4.8 easily, but not a 5 yet.

Visuals: looking back, they look dreadful, but the power smashes and power serves, whatever, still look nice.
Not a lot of detail in anything much though, but this is not the games strongest department.
6/10

Audio: Very... tennisey? Well, I suppose only the racket sounds are good and the sounds of Bowser and Mario roaring when they put every ounce of strenghth into their serve, but tennis games don't need good music.
7/10

Gameplay: I suggest playing in doubles mode with a mate, it is superb.
There are loads of characters, each with pros and cons and there are loads of courts for you to play on.
Also, Waluigig makes an appearance for the first time!

The usual rules of tennis apply, but it is still much funner than any other tennis game I have ever played.
8/10

Longevity: My eqaution:
3 mates + 4 controllers + you + N64 and a copy of Mario tennis + a doubles match = a bloody good time.
10/10

THE GOOD:
excellent gameplay, good variety of characters, fun with more people

THE BAD:
can get a little boring, depth perception can be a problem

SUMMARY:
As one of the very few tennis games out there,(Tennis for the NES, Super Tennis, Tennis for the Game Boy), Mario Tennis sets the standard by which future tennis games will be judged by. Includes a cast ranging from Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach to Daisy(Super Mario Land), DK Jr., and Shy Guy. With multiple game modes, and a possibility of four-player madness, this is one game to bring to an all-nighter, (if the all-nighter has an N64).
The only downsides are the fact that the game can become very repetious, especially on the tournaments and on the lower difficulty modes;also, there is a slight lack of depth perception, especially when the player is trying to run to the 'star cursor' in order to lay down the perfect smash. All in all, I recommend this game for everyone.

Game Play:

The game play in this game is really good. There are many characters to play as. It has improved a lot from the Gameboy colour version, and the fact you can transfer your data from the Gameboy to the Nintendo 64 makes it more interesting.

The music in this game is nice. It fit perfectly with the sport of the game.

N64  It's me, Mario! Playing tennis! 4.4

After playing the other great Mario games like Mario Kart and Mario Golf, I knew I had to play this game. I was at Wal-Mart one day and the Nintendo 64 demo happened to be Mario Tennis.

Gameplay: 9/10

Who would have known that a tennis game could be so fun and addictive? Mario Tennis has five different types of matches for you to play. Exhibition, Tournament, Ring Shot, Bowser Stage, and Piranha Challenge. The game has a total of 14 playable characters including favorites like Mario, Luigi, and Bowser. There are two hidden characters you can unlock by playing Tournament mode and an additional two you can unlock if you have the Gameboy Color version and the N64 transfer pack. The game is playable with a total of four human controllers in Exhibition, Ring Shot, and Bowser Stage.

In Tournament mode, you can either go in Singles or Doubles competition. There are a total of three cups you can win. When you win the final cup, you will unlock one secret character and then the player you used will get a little star that is sort of like a powerup. The main problem with Tournament mode is that you can't play with a friend in the Doubles competition.

Ring Shot is a type of match where you hit the ball through these golden rings that appear above the court. The number of rings you clear will be added at the end of the match. Whoever has the most rings at the end will win. This is 1-4 players.

Bowser Stage is one of the funnest modes. You know those item boxes in Mario Kart? Well they make a special appearance in this mode. The Item Boxes will be spread throughout the court and when you hit the ball through the box, you will get an item that you can use by pressing "R". The items you can use are the Red Shell, Green Shell, Mushroom, Banana, Lightning, and Star.

Piranha Challenge is a one player game where your goal is to return all fifty balls that a Piranha plant shoots at you. It sounds pretty easy, but it is actually quite tough. To make things harder, there is a computer opponent that will try to block your hits.

There are four main courts that you can use. Hard Court, Grass Court, Clay Court, and Composite Court. Each type of court will affect the ball speed and the bounce of the ball. There are also several secret tennis courts that you can unlock.

Control: 9/10

The controls for the game is absolutely simple. It may seem tough at first, but you will get the hang of it after a while. Pressing the buttons in a certain order will allow you to do drop shots, lobs, and spikes.

Sound: 7/10

The music is alright, I guess it matches the atmosphere and environment. The sound effects are great and the character voices are good also.

Graphics: 8/10

The graphics are smooth for a N64 game. The colors are bright and matches nice. I have not seen any glitches in the game yet.

Fun Factor: 9/10

The game is absolutely fun and addictive. But the game will get old and you may want to take a break from it after a while.

Challenge: 10/10

There are four different difficulty levels and you can choose them for each player. I recommend playing on "Hard" because "Intense" is crazy and the other two are just plain too easy. The little stars that you get from winning a tournament will also give the characters a boost.

Multiplayer: 10/10

This is probably one of the best multiplayer games for the N64 EVER. My friends and I can play this for hours and the game is at it's best with four human players.

Overall: 9/10

This is definitely a great party game and I would recommend buying it. It should be cheap now.
