THE GOOD:
Plays much like the PC versions. Good graphics and rather intense gameplay.

THE BAD:
Control scheme is way too complex. Areas are too dark to see without turning brightness up on your TV. Some areas are frustratingly hard to clear.

SUMMARY:
This version of Doom was ported by Midway and not id Software, and it's actually rather decent. It boasts totally new levels not seen in the PC original plus new enemies and weapons as well.
The gameplay remains fast, furious, and simple-kill or be killed and find weapons & items to aid you in staying alive. Switches & keycards add some nice puzzle elements and there are many chances to put weapons to good use.
Although you can configure the controls to your liking, this is where the game really suffers. A multi-button control pad just cannot replace the keyboard and you'll find yourself frustrated trying to press the right button to get the weapon you need quickly. Also, although the rooms are supposed to be dark in keeping with the game's theme, the darkness level here borders on ridiculous and unnecessarily increases the game's difficulty level, too high as it is.
If you're a Doom fan without a PC or looking for another good gore-fest, you'll find it here. Just be sure to bring a lot of patience and a good stress-reliever or two because you'll need them.

THE GOOD:
Nice shoot people game
A little Challenging

THE BAD:
Way too dark

SUMMARY:
This is an ok game. Its basically a game where you go first person mode and shoot and kill people. It has many twists and turns and there is only really two things wrong with this game. It is way too dark and it has no multiplayer. Those two things defintaly make this not such a good game. I would rent it if there is nothing else to rent. I woud not buy it no matter what!
