This is one of those games I've played once a year or so for years but not necessarily because it's good. It's more because it simply interests me. It's intriguing to check out a game that just kind of *bleep*ing sucks but manages to have just enough palatable elements to be sort of appealing. It's got bad controls, but at least Bomberman can jump as opposed to in the other two Nintendo 64 Bomberman games where he couldn't, plus every other platformer had you jumping. There was an emphasis on running around levels collecting shit, even if the levels were likely what influenced Final Fantasy 13's straight as an arrowshaft world map. It rewarded you for getting 100% with extra levels, but actually getting 100% is more tedious than counting individual seeds. It had boss battles... and they were actually the lone good thing about this game. They were fun, challenging and surprisingly well designed. Everything else, though, sucks shit.
THE GOOD: A LOT better than tha first sucky N64 BM game. There are 4 modes, Ski, Marine, Jet and Copter Bomber. And the normal platform action bomberman. It has great gameplay, sound, and graphics.
THE BAD: *crickets chirp, silence* Umm...Why is this here? Dammit...
SUMMARY: Overall, this is a great game. If you don't know who Bomberman is, this is a great start. And Bomberman fans will love it, I'm sure. It doesn't got no 2 player or nuthin, but it is a great adventure.
