THE GOOD: Good graphics. Creative tracks. Shortcuts.
THE BAD: You can only drive Beetles. No logical basis. Only get 2 tracks when you begin playing. Tight control.
SUMMARY: From a creative standpoint, there is nothing truly wrong with this title. The tracks are innovative, and feature a decent amount of shortcuts. The graphics are also pretty good, though the trees and backgrounds need some tweaking. So, why does it get an average score? It makes no sense. You drive Beetles around in over-the-top environments, such as an island, a temple, a mountain, or a city. A plot would have really helped, but since you have nothing to work with, there is no logical basis to hold the game together, and, alas, causes the game to fall apart. Another thing is that you drive only Beetles. You begin with the default Beetle design(you unlock more designs as you progress...) with three stats for the design, as well as other Beetles with the same desisn but different stats. I found all three to perform the exact same way. I think this would be the title for beginning racing gamers to play.
THE GOOD: The Secrets The multiplayer modes The police car beetle look really funny
THE BAD: Some secrets are near impossible to find without some sort of help.
SUMMARY: I don't know what got me to try out this game. The name of the game sounds stupid and racing beetle cars doesn't exactly sound too exciting. But I rented the game anyway and I wasn't disappointed. There is a lot of fun to be had in this game. The tracks are pretty cool, but I wish there was more to do in one player mode. The game seemed kind of short to me. Multiplayer was kind of fun, but the racing mode seemed to be the most fun you could have in multiplayer. I did like the secrets and I liked the police car beetle (using it siren made other racers pull over).
Bottom Line: It's not that bad of a game even though the title of it is stupid.
