THE GOOD: The storyline is always changing and it keeps you wanting to find out what really is going on. Tons of pointless puzzels that the player can figure out and feel good about, for example learning the language of your spirit self (hint: read backwards). But the big plus is the character building! If only other rpg's would use this system.
THE BAD: H2O is out done for while bad publishers like EA still exist.
SUMMARY: Good game, email nintendo and demand they buy the rights to make a second.
The initial reviews of the game said that the first few hours are difficult and to stick with the game because it does get better. That was true but I thought it took about 10 hours before I could begin to enjoy it at all.
Overall I think the game has some shortcomings. They are:
* If a character dies you cannot revive them. You can overcome this by saving all the time but it can be annoying.
* This was the first game that I had over 8 game crashes. There was no common cause - it just happened. Again, another need to save all the time.
* The map available during the game was difficult to use. For example, it was difficult to find Shamshuk Tower. It was on the map but just a brownish bump and you do not realize what it is until you get there and check the map to find your location. If I replay the game again, at least I know what to look for.
* Battles at night are extremely difficult to see. There was a way to ''make light'' which I never did...
THE GOOD: I loved just about every aspect of the game (especially the graphics).
THE BAD: The game is a bit buggy.
SUMMARY: I am a RPG fan, and I love this game. Many may not like the game (because of the bugs, at times sluggish battle system, etc.), but it is one of my favorites.
I played the game once and have been hooked ever since.
Another great thing about the game is the beautiful graphics. The game world seems to breathe with life, with natural sounds and changing times of the day (and night). Plus, the game world is HUGE.
The battle system takes some time to get use to, but the player can quickly become a pro. It's amazing to see the transformation from a scrawny little main character who has trouble taking on a giant rat to a mighty wizard capable of incinerating even the most powerful Chaos Minion.
The only drawback, though (except the bugs), is the sparse amount of enemies in that huge amount of...
THE GOOD: Many ways to play this game. Secrets yet to uncover. You can back track and discover changes due to what you have done. I doubt if any two games played have been the same. You can explore and get lost!!! how fun.
THE BAD: There are some things in the game that were ment to be something and were left un finished.I would love to see it as it was intended.
SUMMARY: I am in my umph-teenth game and am rediscovering Aidyn yet again.Anyone who says they have seen and done it all....could not have.If you re think and re plan each new game before starting it you will find new twist and turns each time.I no longer focus on beating the game.i'm always looking for something new...and I always find it.I am attempting to find a way to keep all the goodies in the barrow...I have a plan.I have some questions that only the programmers could answer...that is in progress. What a great chatworld this would make.
THE GOOD: 1) The awesome storyline. 2) The length of the game. 3) The vast selection of monsters. 4) The different spells and skills that you can learn.
THE BAD: 1) The game requires a controller pak in order to save the game. 2) The graphics could be better.
SUMMARY: I was really impressed by this game. It has the action of The Legend Of Zelda, and the RPG fun of Final Fantasy. The storyline is great, and the first time I played it, I found myself hurrying through the game, wanting to see what would happen next. There is a huge variety of different characters to choose for you party, each with their own personality, class, and skills. This game is almost exactly like the game Dungeons and Dragons. The combat is turn-based, which, in my opinion, I like because I can think it out.
But, there are problems with the game too. First of all, there is no audio dialogue at all, just like The Legend Of Zelda. The...
THE GOOD: 1. Storyline, storyline, storyline! 2. Massive world 3. Ability to wander throughout it, while not doing some of the quests. 4. Characters 5. Statistic buildups 6. Variety of spells, weapons, and teammates. 7. The Battle System. 8. It's not anime. (Not that anything's wrong with that, it's just a nice change, and gives it a more Gaelic, Germanian and/or Norse mythology feel.) 9. Ending (Which I will say nothing about.)
THE BAD: 1. Came out during last months of N64's reign, giving it no chance at becoming widely known. 2. Not the best graphics, but not the worst. (I played with the expansion pack, so I don't know what regular play was like.) 3. Cinema sequences. They were good and informative (if you paid attention) but they lacked fluidity of people's movements (looked a bit choppy.) 4. All text, no audio dialog whatsoever. (It couldn't be avoided with that much information being crammed into...
THE GOOD: This game has one of the best character build-up systems I have ever seen. Between Skills, Stats, and Spells, you have alot to use your exp. on. With several skills, anywhere from Wizard to Thief to Alchemist to Hafted, you can shape you party into 4 wizards, or a bunch of hardcore sword/hafted chars with bowmen for back-up. The weapon skills are: Sword, Bow, Hafted, Pole, Thrown. Then there are six stats: Intelligence, Willpower, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, and Stamina. The storyline is the best part of the game though, and I'll leave that to you to figure out.
THE BAD: The graphics suck and the sounds suck. And I wish you could have more than 4 characters including you in your party. And they could have made the game a little longer, though not too much. It takes at least 30 hours to beat if you rush through it, 50+ if you want to stop and smell the roses and take time to explore all the unnecessary areas and listen to the 150+...
THE GOOD: It has the storyline of a Classic Rpg and U can pick how you want to utilize ur Characters with a variety of characters to use some found later in the game and a good amount of spells so u canwipe out ur enemies also the stroyline gets more and more entangled and mysterious farther into a the game
THE BAD: The games Graphics could be better and it seems to lack people in certain areas when u climb ladders it's like a pop-up window so u wouldnt know if theres a badguy up thereand the camera angles could be better
SUMMARY: This game is fascinating and is what u call a game that is worth teh time and would be great if it could make a sequel to it Even though its not to greaton graphics A true Rpg PLayer Could Sit through it and get to teh fun underneath the Crappy graphics
THE GOOD: The sheer size of the game is amazing to me. I haven't played many other RPG's, but I have played the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, and there is so much more to explore and do. The music is, although kind of corny, very fit to the game, and I do admit it sometimes the battle music gets stuck in my head.
THE BAD: I would say one thing that detracts from this great game is the battle style. Yes, it follows the tradition of D&D, but seriously, if your camp was broken by a bunch of giant rats, would you give them "turns" to attack you. I for one would run up and cut their heads off. Other than that and maybe the graphics of the game, there is not much that is critical enough to ruin the game.
SUMMARY: I started off renting the game from a local movie store. After the first half-hour or so of gaming, I was utterly and completely hooked. The storyline is very straight-forward, and gets better and better as you progress in the...
THE GOOD: This game lacks in almost every single category imaginable... yet for some reason it is not a bad game. Despite it's immense flaws there is still a sort of essence to this game, and you will find yourself playing right through to the end, whether you want to or not. There are many obvious errors, but even so it's an enjoyable game.
THE BAD: The graphics are terrible, the backgrounds flicker and the characters faces are really poor. The storyline is somewhat interesting, but it gets raped by the bizarre dialogue and cut off sequences. The dialogue is pointless and makes little sense. Characters almost never move out of battle, and in one scene a character actually walks off screen as her "Death".
The sound is actually decent, and the SFX sound realistic. You can hear a river from far away, and the noise gets louder as you approach, whereas in most games you cross an invisible line that determines when you start hearing the river....
