THE GOOD: + innovative graphics + excellent level background music
THE BAD: - "pixelized" characters - same old mediocre SFX - losing speed...
SUMMARY: Sonic 3D Blast has to be one of the most under-rated videogames for the Genesis. I, myself, don't really know why this happens: this game has great 3D isometric graphics and amazing sound. The only thing that keeps it from getting a top grade is the introduction of Flickies into the gameplay. Flickies are small, mysterious birds that can travel between dimensions. In order to complete most stages, you have to kill every robot found in that stage, get the Flickies you freed and jump into a giant floating ring. This contrasts the basic gameplay of completing the level "on a flash" of the first Sonic games released and takes a lot of fun away.
But, regardless, it's still an entertaining game. If you're considering it, get it.
