THE GOOD: -Fun, long lasting multiplayer game play.
-150 playable characters.
-15 Playable arcade levels.
-Many arcade style challenges. (Around 50)
-Has a map editor to make your own arcade or story mode maps.
-Online play. (X-Box only)THE BAD: -Story mode is lacking.
-Story mode isn't much of a challenge.
-Stupid cumputer AI. SUMMARY: Timesplitters Future Perfect is a great FPS game, especially if you're looking for something different. The story mode is often humorous and definitely fun to play. While the story mode isn't very difficult to complete, you'll find that the real fun is in the multiplayer. Multiplayer mode offers many styles of gameplay, over many different maps, and MANY characters to choose from. There is also quite an arsenal of different weapons (From shotguns, and pistols, to harpoons and the 'electrotool'), and there's even a device (only in story mode, unfortunately) that can pick up objects in the level, and throw them at enemies.
Despite all of the good, there's always something bad. This game's bad is the incredibly stupid and predictable computer AI. While playing against 12 computer BOTs can be difficult, they are very predictable in their actions. After about 20 hours of play, you'll know everything the computer AI is going to do next.
Now, back to the good. Arcade mode offers 27 challenges, each with different objectives. Most of them are usually to kill a certain amount of enemies in a time limit, or get a certain amount of kills as fast as you can, but it is really fun and addictive.
There is also a 'challenge mode', which is similar to arcade, but the objectives are more theme based (I.e., these three missions are about monkeys, and the next three are about zombies). Challenge mode also offers a really strange mini game called cat racing. It's almost exactly how it sounds, you drive a cat around a course. (The cat has bad traction...)
All-in-all, TS:FP is a very overlooked FPS game, and it is very good, and worth buying. |
