One game I've always found myself falling in love with is Tales Of Symphonia. Easily one of the better Gamecube games (which doesn't say much, as if I recall correctly, the Gamecube had a lot of shovelware - just saying) and the most accessible and the easiest to find Tales game (excluding Tales Of Vesperia) out of the bunch, mostly due to either small quantities of it (looking at a few PSP ones) or due to Japan-only release (I lost count of how many there are in that department), so typically, the only Tales games a typical gamer would've experienced is Symphonia and Vesperia.. maybe Abyss and Legendia if they're lucky to find copies, but typically, it's Symphonia and Vesperia. Now, actually talking about Symphonia, the one thing that it is, is that it's either fantastic, or annoying. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground anywhere with this game. Some puzzles will get on your tits, while battles will get the blood pumping. Some dialogue and voice acting will make you cringe,...

SUMMARY:
Tales Of Symphonia is the Namco's game that was released a year before it's anniversary (with Abyss marking the Tales' series anniversary). This RPG left a deep mark on the Game Cube; as a game with high rankings and a game that is almost impossible to forget about. The story and the gameplay (as the most important elements) are sweet. These will get you hooked with the game in no time.

The story of the game makes a huge difference with today's RPGs. It is extremely deep and beatiful. The story can be enjoyed by anyone on the family, any kind of people and both hardcore and casual...

THE GOOD:
• An amazing RPG game that allows you to level characters and change basically everything about them. This includes their weapons, clothes, armor, accessories, attacks, skills, and so much more.
• A brilliant and deep storyline that is always changing, twisting, and turning. It will play with your emotions, morals, and beliefs. It will make you sad, happy, excited, and even angry at times. There are even some parts of the game where you are able to advertently or inadvertently change the outcome of the game.
• You can use 8 different unique and fun characters throughout the game. This includes sword users (Lloyd, Kratos, Zelos), magic users (Genis, Raine), a summoner (Sheena), an axe wielder (Presea), a flying ring user (Colette), and even a character that uses his legs as weapons (Regal). As the player, you can choose to fight and walk around the world with any of these characters. They all have different (and sometimes overlapping) storylines...

THE GOOD:
- Real-Time Battles with a RPG System
- Two Large Worlds to Explore
- Huge Selection of Moves and Items
- Excellent Music
- Very Long Lifespan

THE BAD:
- Camera in Multiplayer tends to miss out other players
- Too much back and forth with some puzzles

SUMMARY:
The Gamecube isn't particularly known for drowning in RPGs, so seeing Namco bring its Tales Of series to the Cube with Symphonia is a wonderful sight. The question is whether Tales can deliver a solid gaming experience or will it fail to fill the void?

Visuals

Graphically the game adopts a manga-styled look. Expert use of cel shading techniques along with a wonderful art style creates quite a unique presentation that not only looks awesome but helps it stand out from the crowd.

Character models are constructed well with clothing details and use of colour, although parts of the character models have a...

THE GOOD:
Fun combat
Multiplayer!
Reminds me of Grandia

THE BAD:
Not much kept me coming back
....a bit too much of Grandia.

SUMMARY:
Tales of Symphonia Review

An RPG for the Gamecube! And guess what. It's actually pretty fun! Read more....

Visuals: 7.0 It's not that bad but it's nothing stellar either. The characters are nicely cel-shaded and the backgrounds are pretty but it's a disappointing package if you were expecting something that flexed some graphical muscle. Especially from a team as talented as Namco. Anime cutscenes are nice but there aren't enough of them(I had to play through 50 hours just to see the first). Also, during battle, there are some signs of chugging and frame-rate slow-downs. Like, at the end of the battle, the scene would freeze for about 5 seconds and then continue. Or the game would slow down. Not the stylish slowdown either....

THE GOOD:
-Deep Story
-Excellent Character Development
-High Replay Value
-Action-Packed Battle System
-Character Customization

THE BAD:
-Out-of-focus Camera in Multiplay
-Too much running around in some of the puzzles

SUMMARY:
Wow, a game this good hasn't come along in a long time. It has a spectacular battle system that allows you to enjoy it with your friends. What's great is that you can also change the AIs settings to better customize combat. Tales of Symphonia also has very high replay value due to its "new game+" type feature. The story keeps you tuned in and there are many plot twists to keep the gamer on his toes. Main characters receive so much development that you actually feel like you know them personally, which every great game should achieve. What's more is that this game let's you deside lots of the key elements in the story telling. The addition of a affection system helps support this. Definitely...

THE GOOD:
The cel-shaded graphics
Voice overs
nice artwork and anime cutscenes
awsome real-time battle system
Cool story-line and twist
Awsome characters
Fun multi-player

THE BAD:
Camera only follows first player in multiplayer

SUMMARY:
The best RPG and game for the GC. The anime cutscenes are done very well, and the artwork is amazing. The graphics are really amazing (cel-shaded). The real-time battle system is really amazing. There are lots of characters involved, with an amazing plot and twist. The game is long and never gets boring, there is always something to do. The weapons are very beautifully done. There are many skits acrossed the game and tell you what the characters are like that are involved in the skit. There are a lot of cool alternate costums. There is up to 80 hours of gameplay with the main storyline and the side quest together. This is a must-buy for people who own a GC. Trust me,...

THE GOOD:
The battle system is ALMOST like Kingdom hearts from that PS2 game and it is VERRYYY long.(got it 2 weeks ago and still aint done with the first disk :/)Puzzles are VERY hard and challenging very good plot also very funny. Also,Cool looking spells like Thunder blade.

THE BAD:
One thing:Sheena has a bad habit of dying.and when you want to fill your monster list if you miss the boss you only have one chance to get his/her data.

SUMMARY:
All I have to say is if you are allergic to fun, don't buy this game. That's all I have to say. Also, when you start off the game, you will have your wooden blade for a loong time...until you get to triet...Ooops i spoiled too much for you!I just hope I didn't put what's gonna happen....Oh let me shut up and you go buy this game or DIE!!!!

THE GOOD:
Graphics

THE BAD:
Not enough anime cutscenes.
Skits were boring with a lack of voice acting.

SUMMARY:
Lastability: 10/10.
Can last quite some time, with extra difficulties and a fair few sidequests to keep you occupied, plus the story is addicting as hell.
Graphics: 8/10.
Not enough anime scenes (3? YOU JOKING!?!?), but the graphics themselves look freaking awesome!!
Sound: 8/10.
Awesome soundtrack. Easily on my top 10 best soundtracks list. Intro was epic as. Oh, and the voice acting and such was good too. Too bad that some key scenes and skits lacked voice acting.
Gameplay: 8/10.
Some puzzles - especially towards the end of the game - were a bit on the bullshit side, but the other puzzles were cool. The fighting system is pretty addicting, if a bit simplistic and easy at times.
Overall: 4.4/5.0.
Some pretty damn awesome stuff. You pretty much owe it to yourself to get this.

THE GOOD:
Thrilling story with many twists. some funny skits. UNBELIVABLE battle system. Great graphics. Tons replay bonuses. Veeeeeery long. (40 hours!) Lots of characters to choose from. A lot of attacks. Seriously. I think there is 374 in total.

THE BAD:
For younger audiance, it swears kind of a lot: D,Ba,H, and A once. some skits are boring. (Thats whats the start button is for!) Pour camara angeling for multi-player battles. Multi-player could be better.

SUMMARY:
This is one of the first RPGs ive played and WOW. Ive heard that some tales games are pretty lame, and ive played some and discovered that most of the rumors are true. But now namco has a RPG that REALLY has a shot at stardom. Seriously. You want this game. A lot. I can read your mind. This game is like, whoa. Its one of my favorite games ever.
