THE GOOD: Great Platforming action, awesome fighting system, good story line, great graphics and music.THE BAD: Music may be odd for some, violence may not make too many people happy, glitchy. SUMMARY: Over two years ago, the Prince of Persia and his army attacked an enemy kingdom. With the treasure stolen was an item called the Dagger of Time, which the Prince yelled. It had the power to control short ammounts of time and open the Sands of Time. Under the influence of the Marjarajah, he opened the Sands of Time and cursed the Sultan's Palace into turning into sand cretures. Only by reversing time itself was the Prince able to prevent his own death and stop from ever openeing the Sands in the first place. After the Prince got back to Babylon, all was not well. A demoniac creature called the Dahakah chased him through the streets without notice, leaving the Prince little time to eat or sleep for two years, causing him to become a shell of himself. More violent, he went to a wise old man, who told him that the beast knew you were supposed to die at the Sultan's Palace. The only way you could change your fate is to stop the Sands of Time from every being created, therefore stopping the Prince from toying with fate.
Anyone who's played "Sands of Time" knows this story. They also know the game was a difficult platformer with a deep story. In "Warrior Within", it's even more so. First off, the enviorments are beautiful. You can change from past to present, and each place looks stunning. There are alot more cinematics in this game which explain the complicated story very well.
Now, for the part that might piss some people off. The violence. There's a new combat system, allowing for you to make your own way to kill. You can hold one sword and keep a hand open to grab other enemies. You could use two swords for a brutal beating. Or you could use the enviorment to its greatest potential. Whatever you want. Now, the enemies bleed, but the violence is very low key. Sure, there's some blood here and there, but overall, its not that much.
Also something that some people might not like: all the music is done by Godsmack. Just during the fight scences does this music come up. But for me, it works well. It gets you angry and energetic for the fight. But some people don't like metal, so, screw them.
Also, something is the game is glitchy. Well, some are. My game is fine, but in my friend's game, sometimes the floors disappear or the sound doesn't work. Really, it's luck of the draw.
These bad things are really just opinion or luck. The game has all of the good stuff that "Sands of Time" plus a better fighting system and longer game. Really, it's a good buy. If you liked the first game, this one will be a great game for you to buy. Never played Sands of Time? Buy this anyway. It's a great game. |
