THE GOOD:
-A mix between Underground and Hot Pursuit, combining cop chases, street racing, and customizing

-Two new race modes; Speedtrap and Tollbooth

-Tons of new and exotic cars, and imports from Underground 1 and 2, and new imports

-Cool storyline

-Nicely rendered cutscenes

THE BAD:
-They took away quite a bit from the customizing options, but it's still moderately satisfying in terms of customizing

-Disappointing in-game graphics (I expected better)

-Took away drift and street x races, as well as the ability to challenge other racers on the street to a chase

SUMMARY:
First of all, I'd like to say that Need for Speed Most Wanted is a good game, and fans of the previous games, and cars/customizing would probably enjoy it, but it has it's flaws. (At least for the Gamecube version)

THE GOOD

Some of the good points are, the town seems to be bigger than Bayview, the setting of NFSU2, but there aren't as many neighbourhoods, which in this game are called "boroughs". After beating a certain racer on the Blacklist, you'll be entitled to enter a new region on the map. I have to admit, at this point, there aren't that many boroughs, but they're big at the least.

Another good point is the new cars. There are a lot of new cars, and I mean a lot. With each Blacklist rival taken down, you will be able to buy 2-3 more new cars. There is still the customizing feature in this game, though not as important as in NFSU1 and 2. You still need customizing though, as it is important in staying away from the cops.

The storyline is nice and composed, and isn't too fast, but it seems like there are portions missing, but that isn't very important in a racing game in my opinion.

The cutscenes are nice, and have a glowy kind of feel, but not that "soap opera" glow. I also like the presence of graffiti and urban art in this game.

There are a few new (but not more than NFSU2) performance, body, and visual upgrades in this game, and there are 4 levels of performance upgrades this time, instead of 3, and I like the new types of paint (Pearlescent (was in NFSU2), flat, and extremely shiny) in the custom section of paints.

THE BAD

Although the customizing is still there, there's less customizing options, which is disappointing to me, because I really liked that in NFSU2.

From all the pictures and videos, I expected better graphics this time, but they weren't much of a change from NFSU2.

They also took away drift and street x races, as well as the feature to be able to outrun other racers on the street without formally engaging in a race. But I can see why they took away drift and street x, as those didn't seem like something you would see in this game now that I've played it.

Overall, this is a good game, and I would recommend it to racing, NFS, and car/customizing fans.
