THE GOOD: The players are updated as of 2004, The graphics are really good, the controls and handling is much more improved as opposed to those of NBA Live 2003, boot/training camp for your team, Playoff/Dynasty/Season/and other modes of gameplay, and the game is overall fun.THE BAD: Sometimes the game can get too easy, even with the hardest difficulty (when you master it), its too easy to make characters invincible, and it gets really boring if you even attempt to play single player..sometimes. SUMMARY: First of all, this was a great basketball game to drop in 2004, and I could say, that it couldn’t really get much better than it already is. There is a lot of competition in it because you can challenge any team that you wish to play against, including the 80’s, 90’s, and even today’s All-Stars. That’s the fun part of it, and it can still get really interesting because most of the time you would play a basketball game on multiplayer. If you do however attempt to play it on single player mode, then after a while, it will get really boring.
Other than that factor, we move on to gameplay. The game itself is really fun, especially if you happen to be a basketball fan, where you can attempt to beat the living crap out of your worst hated team. But that doesn’t necessarily limit the game to NBA fans, because even if you aren’t a fan, then you can still have a great time with Live ’04 since its also a great pick up and play game. That’s where the fun factor of it comes in because you cant really play a game that you don’t consider to be any fun.
As it is a multiplayer type game, then it obviously doesn’t have a story, but with the extremely fun and addicting gameplay, you wont really need to worry about anything else seeing as it will obviously keep you occupied for a long while. I would say to buy it if you are a basketball fan, and if you aren’t, then I would suggest renting it for the fun of it. You wont really be sorry, unless you easily get annoyed when you’re getting owned by your most hated team. It’s a great game, almost a must by in my eyes. |
