Worst Megaman game in existence | 1.0 0 comments |
by Kiker from , , Australia | Apr 22, 2005 |
THE GOOD: Nothing. This game just doesn't have any redeeming factors at all. Quite possibly the worst game I've ever played, and I've played Dr Jeckyll And Mr Hyde.THE BAD: Gameplay Graphics Sound Too much backtracking Look, this game is so bad that there's nothing good about it. SUMMARY: Lastability: 1/10. Pfft. Won't last you 2 seconds. You'll probably not even bother because of how disgusted you can get over how horrible of a game it really is. Graphics: 2/10. The graphics are horrible in this game, like it's meant to be on the N64 about halfway through it's time. I actually don't think there's anything worth looking at in amazement as the graphics aren't even that great. Sound: 1/10. Can I say...horrible? The sound could make you go deaf, or just cause you to turn off your Gamecube in disgust. Put the volume on mute, there's nothing worth hearing in the game. Gameplay: 1/10. Horrible. Your weapon does nothing and the Battle Chips are a cheap way of killing enemies and bosses. Also, you have to keep backtracking, especially when it shouldn't really be needed. Overall, this has the worst gameplay ever. Worst part is that they tried fusing Megaman X with elements from the Megaman NT Warrior anime, and everyone knows that it might sound good on paper, but sucks when it's executed badly, like in this game. Overall: 0.5/5.0. While games like Back To The Future, the original Transfomers game and Dr Jeckyll And Mr Hyde are bad, this gmae is just pointless and proves that you CAN sink very low when you've done so well. Didn't think Capcom can sink this low though...Overall, avoid this game like the plague, pretend it doesn't exist, and go buy Megaman X Collection, it at least gets the X part of the gameplay right. |

THE GOOD: Traditional run-n-jump gameplayTHE BAD: Too difficult to be fun SUMMARY: I was really excited when i first booted up Network Transmission. Here it was, finally--a side-scrolling Mega Man in the style of the old games with the look and feel of the Battle Network GBA series. But despite great-looking cartoon graphics and heaps of old-school styling, NT is just too damn hard to be fun. I mean, theres challenge and then there's losing count of how many tries it took to beat FireMan, the first-level boss. On top of that, the Battle Chip weapon system (borrowed from the GBA games) doesn't fit an action game like this. Your battle chips are randomly selected, and you're completely screwed if you dont have life-replenishment or projectile-weapon chips when you reach a boss. Mega Man does have his trusty buster weapon that never runs out (and doesnt rely on chips), but in this game, that weapon is about as effective as trying to take out cars with spit wads. If you're not a superhumanly skilled hardcore fan of the blue bomber, skip Transmission |

THE GOOD: Great graphics, difficulty is challenging at the right times. Great storyline.THE BAD: I'll stick with just saying that this fricken Key Item called ExCdHnt1 is really makin me mad... I dont get it!!! SUMMARY: Now what are you people whining about? "hard hard hard" someone said..well shouldnt a game be challenging? If a game is too easy its no fun. And someone else said it was too easy I thought... well only if you rush through, but if you challenge yourself to find chips and stuff like that the difficulty ups a bit... actually its not that easy even when you just rush through :-P and the Boss Battles are hard as fricken HECK to nail an S on, especially the latter ones. I'd say this game rox. |

THE GOOD: Ha! Ha! What a great joke! Yeah! Very funny!THE BAD: This is going to be long....
TOO HARD! His trademark weapon is weaker than cotton candy. You can't even swing a sword without it costing you! TOO HARD! You have a hard time thinking you're actually in the Internet. YOU CAN'T EVEN DEFEND PROPERLY!!!! You have over 100 attacks, but it reduces to a much smaller number when you find out that they are just items with different elements or different strength, IE, Cannon, HiCannon, MegaCannon. TOO HARD! You can't select your stage like in, well, any other Megaman game. Sidescrollers are great, but this one just doesn't have the backgrounds and colors of other ones. Did I mention that it was too hard?
SUMMARY: Here it is, the game that is Megaman's first Gamecube appearence, and his 15th anniversary cake, but, his cake just blew up in the oven. Actually, the first Megaman was horrible, but Megaman 2 was the best in the series. I like Megamans 3-6, but at Megaman 7, the games begin to degrade, with a sudden jump upwards at X5, then begins to slowly drop down. Megaman, at this rate, will never make up for his outstanding performance in Megaman 2. You begin in Lan's paper room in AC-DC town, or Paperville. Megaman just looks kinda stupid in this game. You can't see his eyes and you just feel like you're controlling Dough Boy. As a matter of fact, the bosses look like dough people except if they are very big. Same goes for the enemies. They look like dough minions, with the exception of size. I can't believe you are graded on how fast you destroy an enemy! If you do very good, you get the enemy's most powerful chip, like an A. If you make even one mistake or take just a second too much, like a B, you only get some Zenny or a health refill. The grading thing works well on other games, where you get something even at the F scoring range, which helps beginner players a lot, but with this, you just get too frustrated and quit it immediatly. This has got to be the worst usage of cel shading I've seen in my life. I know what the internet is supposed to look like from seeing Tron, and it isn't filled with wires, pistons, turbines, galaxy backgrounds, and other mechanical hoo-has. Combine these flaws with the game's impossible difficulty and you got yourself a waste of time.
Note to person who wrote the review above mine: Mega Man is not correct to me, and you don't have to blab your flaming to me. Think about it, and keep thoughts like that to yourself. Period. I love hard games, but I hate impossible games. |

THE GOOD: Good graphics, nice storyline, simple controls, easy difficulty, good music.THE BAD: Easy difficulty, some moves weren't there, defeating bosses based on luck, not a very good lastability. SUMMARY: The graphics were really good for a megaman game considering this was the first time they tried a 3-d background. The story line was pretty good but you'd understand it better if you had battle network 1 and 2. I really like the music, especially of the garden comp. The reason I wrote easy difficulty for the good and the bad was because if you like challenging games it isn't all that challenging and if you like easy games then this is pretty easy except for a few bosses and if you have played a lot of Megaman games then this one's a piece of cake. Some of his moves weren't there such as dashing even though they had sliding but in the previous games dashing then jumping could get you to places you couldn't reach. One thing that kind of got to me was that you needed luck to defeat a boss because you have to have the right chips or you'll have to wait. The only thing that kept this game going after you're done with it was finding all the chips and getting all the program advances(a combination of three or four specific chips).I thought this game was crappy until I saw the advertisement. It's a good game if you like Megaman games and a must have if you're following the Battle Network series. |

Great game, but not Excellent | 4.2 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Megaman on Gamecube Controls fit - easily can re-configure to PS1 MMX style controls Japanese voices kept Graphics MusicTHE BAD: Length Fluctuating Difficulty SUMMARY: Megaman Network Transmission, Megaman's first appearance on GameCube, from the EXE series. This game was good, at least good enough to buy/rent.
The Cel-shaded graphics look excellent, but with exceptions. Some characters look weird with the cel-shading, Another downside to the graphics would be the blandness on some levels, especially the background. The eyecatches are on par too.
The music is superb, with good amounts of remixes of well-known songs. (EX: Title - Megaman Battle Network 2's opening remixed, Insert Song - "Kaze wo Tsukinuete" remix, Rockman.EXE's opening)
The controls actually work with the game, contrary to my initial belief. I found it easily usable with the analog stick and the four button pad.
However, this game is SHORT. One week at best, with subpar replay value.
The difficulty also varies, being hard at the beginning, but when with adequate chips, the game is a pushover at the end.
Good game, good buy. Definitely get this. |

THE GOOD: Nice cell shading in a 3D graphic 2D Game ! THE BAD: Could possibly use a flashier map for picking where to go and a cooler user interface and menu would be nice SUMMARY: Ok , i read that one review that said its HARD , HARD , HARD , HARD , HA....oh shut up already....Yes it is hard , but it has just the right amount to make the game challenging , not easy enough to trade in in a day or two , and fun.I also enjoy the selection of weapons , not like the original megaman games where you had eight bosses , eight different attacks. I have yet to play the game boy advance titles but noow i want to ! Another good game from one of my favorite companies, Capcom . Good show Mega Man , and heres to another 15 years ! Ciao (P.S. = Im playing it as im typeing this ! ) |

THE GOOD: Great graphics and the fact that you have a ton of ways to shoot somebody.THE BAD: How HARD can a game be?! This game is hard hard hard hard with hard on the side and a hard cherry on top! SUMMARY: This is not a good way to make money. I played this game, thought that it was terrible, and sold the game back 4 days later with all my hatred still locked inside its evil, Heck-born body. Take it from me, people. If you buy this game, you'll sell it back at least 10 days later. But this is just my opinion. I'm sure some of you out there think that this game is DA BOMB. |

THE GOOD: This new Mega Man tile has a mix of 2D and 3D graphics and the ability to use chips instead of using energy weapons like in the older games. THE BAD: Some of the bad things I found in the game while playing are the glitches, it is freaking difficult to beat a Boss if you don't get the right chips, the Program Advance is almost impossible the get since the chips you get are randomly chosen. Also when you reach certain levels in the game you can continue because you don't have the right chips needed.
Another bad thing this game has is that it doesn't have any connection to the other Mega Man tiles and Bass whom you can battle, is impossible to beat, literally.
SUMMARY: This game isn't that good so I give it a 3.4. Hopefully they fix all those problems in the second game. |
