User reviews for The Hobbit
6.6 / 10Combined Score
This game was really odd. The graphics weren't that good, and neither were the voices. It gets really annoying sometimes.
Wow, I'm the first person to give it a bad review. I almost feel bad. I don't see what other people like about this. You just went through a lot of weird areas. The enemies are too hard. The voices weren't very good. I don't remember the music. I don't think there was much. I never got how Bilbo got poisoned, it seemed, like at random times. It was also annoying when ropes he was climbing just fell. I liked getting into the treasure chests, sometimes, but it just wasn't worth it when you keep dying from making a little mistake.
Very glitchy at times, some very bad glitches can ruin a save file
I enjoyed this game very, very much but mostly because I've been a Tolkien fan for many years (long before the Lord of the Rings movies came out). This game is pretty fun, it's a different experience though, not really like Zelda or Mario but kind of like both.
Story: Excellent, it follows Tolkien's book rather closely, omitting some parts and extending others for the sake of gameplay, a lot of people wanted to see more of Gollum but I think the designers did a good job with what they had to work with and made the game fun as well as accurate to the book. I'm glad Vivendi chose to follow the book rather than the movies that had just came out, they probably could have made more money if they had, but they still stayed more to the book than movie influence.
Graphics: Nice, stylish graphics, I grew to love how ...
the bad thing about this game would have to be that it is hard to find all of the silver pennies and courage gems because they are EVERYWHERE that is one of the annoying things in this game.BUT STILL IS A GREAT GAME
