Bombs Away! | 3.6 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Some nice graphics. Fun Multiplayer Mode.THE BAD: Short story mode, and some bosses are very hard while the final boss is rather easy. Some Multiplayer modes are boring but the rest rock! Oh yeah and there still sint that many multiplayer modes. So theres not a huge selection of games. SUMMARY: Ok I'll give this game a thumbs way up on the graphics but for the rest... not so sure. Multiplayer mode is still fun and addictive (dodge bomb mode) It has some really crappy modes to (Revenge Mode... Coin Battle) So thats a meh. If you get this game I would get it for the adventure mode but sometimes that makes you mad. The good thing about adventure mode is the selection of partners that you get. but to get some its harder because you have to combine 2 partners you already have.
I don't really know who would like this game and who wouldnt. I'll leave this up to you. JUst remember that if you get it be prepared for some annoying times when you just wanna scream. |

A good game, but not what we've come to expect from Bomberman | 2.7 0 comments |

At first glance, Bomberman Generation looks like a great game. Colorful cel-shaded graphics, clear sound, creative enemies and puzzles, responisve controls, and a simple multiplayer mode that is pure fun. However, looks can be decieving. While this is a good game, it just doesn't live up to any of Bomberman's three Nintendo 64 (N64) titles.
Gameplay is solid and fun, but compared to Bomberman's N64 titles, it feels a little bland and a bit linear. There aren't nearly as many collectibles and unlockables as Bomberman's N64 adventures, either.
Like in Bomberman 64: The Second Attack!, there are several elemental bombs for you to collect. However, this time around, there are only five different types (one of which you start with) and they are hardly any different from one another. Aside from color, the explosions look exactly the same, and each bomb only has one special ability. You won't have to change bombs that often either, because puzzles that require a certain type of bomb are relatively rare.
This is the first of Bomberman's 3-D titles to feature Charaboms, little Pokemon like creatures that are a blessing and a curse. These little guys are found in portals that are cleverly hidden throughout the game's levels. Your first Charabom will join you willingly, but after that you will have to fight them with your existing Charaboms using a battle system that is interesting but could use some touch-ups. You raise your Charaboms form battle by collecting Charabom food that his hidden in the level among standard Bomberman power-ups. What are these Charaboms good for? When equiped (one at a time), each Charabom will give you a special bomb related ability. The earlier Charaboms will give you standard abilities such as bigger bomb explosions and more defensive power, but later on they will let Bomberman perform outrageous stunts like transforming his bombs into landmines or letting him drive his bombs like a remote control car. Also hidden throughout the levels are portals that will take you to rooms that will let you fuse certain Charaboms to create a new one with both abilities of the two used for the fusion. Overall, while the later Charaboms are creative and have innovative abilities, they add a certain complexity to the game that is not really needed.
Classic Bomberman multiplayer has never been better, but the additional multiplayer modes, while fun, are less interesting and less innovative than those of Bomberman 64: The Second Attack!. Also, the ability to create a custom Bomberman for multiplayer battles is gone.
In conclusion, while this game is great in terms of graphics and sound, I'd rather dust off my Nintendo 64 and play Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! or Bomberman HERO instead. |

Why is This So Popular? | 3.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: The HIGE HIGE bandits are cute, and Max is cool. The bosses are pretty fun, and some of the music is good.THE BAD: I really don't like the voices in this. They're just so awful. It's true. The Karabombs are weird. SUMMARY: I know a lot of people like this, but I didn't. *covers face* Don't hurt me! I don't know what people like about this, but it's not that good. It's kind of fun, and the HIGE HIGE bandits are just precious, but the voices, like I said before, are awful. The Karabombs (I don't care if it's spelled wrong) are like Pokemon. The Super Nintendo Bomberman was good; why'd they have to add those cutesy, little things in this one? The mini-games were weird, and many of the areas were too easy. It did get challenging at times, though, and the bosses were surprisingly good, considering the rest of the enemies. |

THE GOOD: Great cel-shaded graphics, gameplay, and multiplayer.THE BAD: Only 4 mini-games. SUMMARY: Bomberman Generation is a very complex title, with more than you may think. First off, Bomberman Generation's controls are perfect. The basic stuff: Move the Control Stick to move Bomberman, press A to drop bombs, kick bombs by pushing them. But, there's even more. You can move freely around places, and new players may notice Bomberman walking more ''freely''. Let's flashback to Bomberman 64 for a moment. Bomberman 64 was a unique classic. Although the graphics were pretty polygonal, that didn't matter. The multi-player made Bomberman 64 popular.
Bomberman also walked a bit different, as you may notice, in Bomberman 64. The point is, Bomberman Generation is like Bomberman 64, but multiply it by 2 or 3 times, and you have Bomberman Generation. Bomberman has an all new look, and a new way to playing it. The control concept is pretty simple, and the learning curve is approximately 5 or less minutes. There are also various new ways of playing Bomberman Generation. Once again, let's go back to Bomberman 64. Bomberman 64 would provide the player with one type of bomb. Although, you could carry 8 bombs at once, having different unique bombs would improve the game much more. In Bomberman Generation, you can use 5 bombs. Fire, Aqua, Ice, Wind and Light. Each bomb as a different ability. Example, Aqua Bombs can fuse out fires. Ice Bombs can freeze fountains. Wind Bombs can push leaves, and Light Bomb can make object visible. However, retrieving the bombs aren't that easy. You'll have to win a Mini-Game to collect a Bomb Merge Item. Each Mini-Game has a unique objective, and winning it will win you a Bomb Merge Item, such as a Fan, or a Strobe. There are plenty of things to do in Bomberman Generation, among a few listed.
There are the Charaboms. Little Pokemon-like creatures, who can help you on your quest for getting back the Bomb Elements, or even battling out with other Charaboms. There are even hidden surprises if you collect all Charaboms or Lightning Cards. It's also a difficult game, and can take up to a week or more to win. It's loading isn't a problem, it takes about 3 seconds for it to load. The title screen is well done, featuring Bomberman and his Charaboms. The menus are also well-done. Majesco did a great job on Bomberman Generation.

(There is more I think) My favorite multiplayer game is dodge battle! I can get so far on it... but the computers almost never die! There just to good! ( Even on the easiest level!) |

Bomberman Generations | 4.5 0 comments |

THE GOOD: + Really good graphics + Easy-to-learn controls + Also Classic Multiplayer Bomberman!THE BAD: - The music seriousley needs help - Only 6 multiplayer games? We need more! - Running animation, but he's 'walking' sort of. SUMMARY: Now, first off, Bomberman Generation has OK graphics, for a cartoony world like Bomberman's, it uses cel-shaded graphics. The music isn't that great. Nothing too great you'll be humming to. The control is easy to learn, but Bomberman is so slow! It looks like he's running but he's walking, sort of. Which is sort of ugly. Replay is almost infinite. They just needed a few more multiplayer games...But there's also the classic Bomberman in there.
So, I'm gonna give it a 4.5

THE GOOD: The graphics are bright and the charabom battles are cool along with the charaboms themselves. Also the different kinds of bombs are neat. The mini-games are really fun and challenging, and the multiplayer is spectacular. THE BAD: The charabom battles are kinda weak. SUMMARY: Bomberman Generation is a great game to have for Gamecube. The graphics are bright and the charaboms are really cool. The different bombs are neat because you have to use them to progress in the game. The minigames are fun and challenging. The multiplayer is spectacular and it is very fun to play against your friends. The only bad thing about it is the charabom battles are kinda weak but I don't care. In conclusion this game is very fun and challenging and its a nice game for the family. |

THE GOOD: Brilliant cell-shaded graphics, easy-to-learn interface and controlsTHE BAD: bad camera angle control, music needs some help SUMMARY: This game nearly has it all. Once you get past the cutesy graphics you realize that there is actually an very involving game behind it all. Most of the game is solving puzzles that range from very easy to, at the most, medium difficulty. The game also offers some variety with mini-games and lots of different items and power-ups to collect throughout the game.
The multiplayer it deep with many different modes to go through. All are fast paced and exciting. The only thing lacking in multiplayer is the option to choose your character. You are, unfortunaly, regulated to just three differently colored Bombermen.
The downsides of this game are few. Most of the music is repetitive and sounds like it came from the mind of a child. The other problem is the camera angles. During boss fights it begins to be a hassle to have to constantly rotate the camera just so you can see and avoid enemy attacks. Some bosses don't even give you the option of moving the camera.
Overall, this game is a must-have for Gamecube owners. With it's deceptivly simple gameplay, users will be sucked in for hours. |

THE GOOD: controls, view, challenges. THE BAD: nothing SUMMARY: Wow, the best in the long Bomberman series by far, smooth graphics, easy to understand controls, along with excelent view control, and at least somewhat challenging puzzles/bosses. The Charabombs add a nice twist to the game, and some can be quite hard to locate. Put simply: go buy this game if you haven't already. |
