BackgroundWhile Mario was away in Sarasaland during his first Game Boy outing, an old and jealous rival known as Wario arrived on Mario Land. He took control of Mario's castle and hypnotised all of the residents of the island to obey him. He then took down the six golden coins that lock Mario's castle and hid them around the island. Upon returning home, Mario found he was already off on another adventure again - this time to rescue his own belongings. Your aim is to reclaim the six golden coins from the six areas of the island in order to unlock Mario's castle, and then to overthrow Wario.
