THE GOOD: This game has incredible graphics, beautiful music, smooth controls, and (most importantly) wonderful character. THE BAD: Uh......I can't think of anything. SUMMARY: Heroes of Might and Magic is a GameBoy Color version of Heroes of Might and Magic I for PC. I have never played the PC version, so I wouldn't know how they compare, but I CAN say that this game is the best game on GameBoy Color. If you like fantasy books, games, etc, then this is a must have.
You begin the game with one town and one hero. In your town you have a few creature-producing buildings already built. Using your current resources, you must stock your hero with creatures such as peasants, goblins, and elves. Then you must ride about the richly detailed countryside, exploring and capturing mines for more resources. As the game continues, you will build more buildings, and thus bigger armies. Eventually you will come into contact with one of your three opponents. The AI is very good, and the three enemies may kill each other from time to time.
This game is incredible. You may choose from one of thirty-one different scenarios. They come in several different map sizes and difficulty levels. One map will last you hours of enjoyable game play - and you have thirty-one! Each scenario is very unique and massive. HOMM will never bore you. Thanks to the many things on the map, every game will be unique. "Abandoned" ships are beached in the sand, filled with ghosts. Mysterious caves hide powerful daemons, with hoards of gold. The adventures are virtually endless.
In conclusion, this game is awsome. It has the character of the old 80's games, and the added feature of portability. This game will make you almost look forward to car trips, when you can sit back, and travel to the realms of Might and Magic. |
