by Golden sun02 from Sydney, , Australia | Dec 26, 2002 |
Gamplay:
Like the Super Nintendo version the gameplay is great, A great classic game. You can unlock 2 versions of one character and you can unlock new features. this game is easy to beat but try to beat the all character mode.
Sound:
This game has awesome sound for it's size. Can't realy say much about it.
Graphics:
Like the Super nintendo's, maybe a bit better, still they are good. |

THE GOOD: The variety of characters, the different game modes, world tour mode, the controls are kind of easy.THE BAD: Some controls are hard. SUMMARY: I played this on the Super Nintendo a few times and loved this game, so I got it for the Gameboy Advance. This is a great game. I love to play the world-tour mode. This is like a 2-d karate fighting game. Definitely get this game. |

THE GOOD: Great translation + added features. Look excatly like the classic with new graphics. Clear sound effects. SF2 anywhere!THE BAD: Needs an option to turn off the music! SUMMARY: Awsome game! Has almost everything the old Street fighter had, plus more! But now you can have super finishes (ala: Alpha 1 & 2)with classic characters. Remember the bonus stages when u busted up that beemer? Aww yeah...
As sounds go, the voices are clear, but the music is weak & very game boyish quality. I don't know about other SF2 owners out there, but the first matches are usually against the 4 new characters (Cammy, DJ, etc...). I wanna fight with the O.G. fighters!

THE GOOD: EverythingTHE BAD: Akuma's strength SUMMARY: I got this game 2 days ago and when I saw it, I knew I'd like it but not this much. The GBA has graphics to match the SNES and the extra features are awesome (like the easy commands option). Plus the charecters are as cool as ever (like the super-human strengthed Ryu). This game deserves 5.0, it's great. It's very fun to make up your own combos in practice mode. |

THE GOOD: A near perfect replica of one of the most fun fighting games ever made. This classic, now fits in your hands... Easy and Manual mode. VS Point system.THE BAD: jab and light kick button hard to pull off, so it's hard to combo manually. Some of the advertised features are missing: Character Edit. SUMMARY: An exact replica of SF2T on the SNES. The only thing that's different is that your get power meters which allow you to perform super special attacks.
Everything is customizable. The controls, since they are limited to 4 buttons force you to assign two of the moves to a quick tap that is often hard to accomplish hence this "tap" is not too far away from a "push" which would make you do a medium punch.
All the special moves are easy to perform with the controls on manual. If you can't, it doesn't matter because Easy mode is here to save you.
There is this VS Points feature which is a neat addition letting you unlock new modes of play and characters. But it is incredibly easy to open new sections. Once you reach the 9999 mark, everything is unlocked. I believe it was too easy to reach, hense I done it over a period of 3 days for a total of 5-6 hours.
Other modes of play a nice addiction to the expert SF player. Beating all the characters on one life bar is still a feat I haven't accomplished. There is a lot of replay, especially if you want to play multiplayer, but you do need two of these cartridges.
You should be able to find this game for around 20 bucks, but I highly ask not to buy this game used because the VS point feature is permanent. Unless you are a newbie, I suggest you buy it new. Gaining VS Points is a lot more fun than you think. |

THE GOOD: A ported-over visian of the greatest Fighter ever. Has so much more even than the original. Multiplayer mode to die for.THE BAD: No single-pak multiplayer. That's all I can bring up. Honest. SUMMARY: This takes me back.
Ten years ago, the same person who wrote this review returned home from three years in Austrlia. It was just coming up to his birthday, what to choose? Mega Drive (or Genesis, as its more commonly known), or Super Nintendo. No contest.
The game I got with it was called Street Fighter 2. The sequal to a vaugely unknown original. It was the first ever vidio game that I a ctually liked. A lot. It was very limited, but it was such great fun that it didn't matter at all.
Later on more versians came out. Letting you play as the bad guys, letting you play against the same character as you were, giving more moves.
The legend ended with the arrival of the N64. Street Fighter games continued on the Playstation, but none captured my mind as much as Street Fighter 2.
Then, nine years on, in the cold December of 2001, and the last day of school before we broke up for Christmas, I was lent a Nintendo Magazine. The magazine was the most poorly written piece of bog roll I had ever seen, but it did include a small feature on Street Fighter 2. On the GBA.
Great news. Great. A few days on now.
December 27th. Having completed MarioKart, I looked around London for SF2. On this, its last push around the block, so to speak, I wanted to own it. So I bought it, and it was from then on that the experience was re-lived.
Now, just over a decade since I got the original, the GBA versian never ceases to amaze me. Its graphics, its fluid gameplay, its endless modes, there really is something for everyone.
The game includes five new characters that I didn't see in my original - Cammy (an English person, I was pleased to find out), T. Hawk, Fie Long, Dee Jay and Akuma.
All of the charcters have their own unique moves and storyline (my favourite character being Dhalsim), and the game is a sheer joy to play, the optional easy mode let's people new to the game execute special moves with more ease. And don't get me started on the quality of the multiplayer.
Smooth running and beutiful, this is simply the best fighter. Ever. |

THE GOOD: Great fighting system Resembles the classicTHE BAD: Bad controls Confusing Controls SUMMARY: Id say buy this game if you like fighting games. THE GOOD: Absolutely everything!!! Graphics - Excellent Sound - wicked Gameplay - Sublime Control - fantastic and the further u get the more options that are unlocked!!!THE BAD: need multiple game paks for use in multiplayer Managed to unlock 2 characters - both of which happen to be Akuma! - Confusing. SUMMARY: This game is an absolute must! Though hardcore gamers will have it grounded in a couple of weeks this is still the game to purchase!
If u like beat 'em ups - GET IT! If u like top quality games - GET IT! If u represent any human-like feature - GET IT! otherwise buy something else!
However with StreetFighter alpha3 coming soon u may want to wait & find out whether the new version is any better.

Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo revival | 5.0 0 comments |
by Oliver Southgate from letcombe bassett | Feb 10, 2002 |
THE GOOD: Contains everything that made previous street fighter outings brilliant and improves on themTHE BAD: The button configurations can be confysing for veterans of the game SUMMARY: You've just boght your gamboy advance and unless you have no gaming knowledge you will have heard of street fighter. This was the benchmark in fighting games that had many clones and copies but was never surpassed. So naturaly its understandable that capcom bring the greatest fighting game to the greatest handheld console in then world. as soon as you turn the game on you are emersed into thwe world of street fighter. The colourful intor while short mnakes you feel like your part of the street fighter family.then from the main selection screen you can get staright into the action of arcade mode. It has been well known that newcomers to the street fighjter series have always had a hard time of keeping up but turbo revivla solves this problem in a secound. With a simple tap of the seect button the gamer has acess to a simplified set of comands meaning that even the mkost brain dead gamer will have no trouble pulling offf the characters best and most impressing moves. while the arcade mode will keep you amused for a while when your trying to earn all the secret characters endings you will soon tire of this and being to see what else turbo revival has yto offer. thankfully there is a great deal to keep you busy over those long summer days. time attack mode is the most absorbing as you continously attempt to beat your records for sets of challenges one of which meens defeating all the characters of the game with one energy bar (yikes). this also gives you the first glimpse of the secret characters. then theres the terrrifying prospect of survival mode which also contains a large number of chanlenges which will kepp you engrossed in the game for months. the presentations of the game overall is fantastic. the animations on the fighters is spot on to previous street fighter outings which will bring tears of nostalgia to vetrans eyes, . the backgroundsa in which they fight are also fulled with animations without a trace of slowdown. the only small nag i have about turbo revial is the button configuration but this can be ajusted at the gamers wish making this a very minor error. so my advice. If your and old street tighter fan buy this game and be prepared ofr a rough ride as the various chanlenges are no walkover. And if your new to the series then this is a great place to start as the implified commands will help you get in to spirit of street fighter wiht minimum fuss. and outstanding game that everyone should own! |

THE GOOD: over 16 players to chose from and got the best way to make the difficulty like for people who are hardcore can make the difficulty on 4 or higher but for bigginers 3 or underTHE BAD: its bad how if you want to kick or punch then close up and moving at them you will grab them.they should have select as a grab button SUMMARY: if you like fighting games this is a one to sart with cuse it isnt to hard but if your hardcore you should still get it but put the difficulty on 5,6 or 7 |
