THE GOOD:
Simple battle interface
Much less reliance on HM moves
Overworld looks nice
Good music collection

THE BAD:
Too much backtracking to pokecenters
Type imbalance
Features stripped out or butchered
Battle scenes still look poor
No actual forward progress since S/R

SUMMARY:

Ah Pokemon, Nintendo's number one money-maker. These critters first appeared back on the old Gameboy, where they captured the heart of many gamers with their monochromatic charm and somehow kicked off a craze where any creature that looked remotely abnormal was highly sought after.

As the years passed by in the life of the Gameboy Advance, a descendant to that old Gameboy, the craze that was Pokemon has mostly died down. But not in video game land. It is here that the craze is still going...

THE GOOD:
- 386 pokemon
- Longer gameplay/storyline than the other pokemon games
- okay graphics
- More fun than the others, including LeafGreen, because of the pokemon
- Some pokemon you can't get in LeafGreen

THE BAD:
Too traditional, and it gets boring, but it'll keep you entertained.. keeping in mind that you like these types of games.

SUMMARY:
First of all, I really think this game is a lot better than the other ones. For starters, there are tons and tons of pokemon in this game that it'll make your head spin. There are 386 pokemon to catch in the game, and trust that it will take quite a while to actually capture them. That is another added plus because its longer than the usual ones, meaning there is more room for entertainment, and of course, it makes the game more enjoyable. Another plus is that the graphics arent really that boring as compared to the other, past pokemon games, so its also something else to look foward to...

THE GOOD:
Teh goodnessness:
Revamped graphics
Revamped sound
Nostalgia
Lots of new places to do and stuff to go
You can catch all 386 pokemon (390 if you count Deoxys's four different forms as seperate pokemon, which I do)
Trading with Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen, and Colleseum. I don't know about GSC though.
All the moves and TM/HMs from Ruby and Sapphire are here.
Flamethrower is now a TM. That's so freakin' cool.
Move Tutors can teach you almost all the moves that were once TMs in past Pokemon games.
Catching pokemon is easier, they actually stay in their Balls when trying to catch them.
AI in both Wild Pokemon and Trainers is improved
Improved dialogue
The Elite Four gets about 20 levels and 5 or 6 evoloutions tougher the second time.
FREE WIRELESS ADAPTER!! BOOYA!

THE BAD:
You can't trade with Ruby or Sapphire 'till after you beat the E4
You cannot catch Lugia, Ho-oh legit, and you can only catch Deoxys by...

THE GOOD:
Can get Deoxys, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres... almost all legendary Pokemon! The battle style is much better (if you compare the 'previous released' pokemon blue/red versions... hehehe). Wireless capability. Connection with Ruby/Sapphire.

THE BAD:
You can't trade/battle with Ruby/Sapphire wirelessly. Need to 'almost' finish the game so you will be able to connect to Ruby/sapphire (and only if you are good enough to find the proper items...)

SUMMARY:
This game have it all!! I think is one of the best remakes done ever! Got to play it to believe it! The wireless capability gained with the adapter makes it even BETTER!! The battle style rules!! The connection between Ruby/Sapphire is not as good as I would like to (not uses the Wireless adapter...) but it's worth the try!

Background:
For those who don't know, Pokémon: Fire Red and Pokémon: Leaf Green are both the newest - and oldest - entries in this series that is very quickly becoming a classic. They are remakes of the original Japanese versions, Pocket Monsters Red and Pocket Monsters Green, but unlike most of the other GBA remakes and ports, they have had enough tweaking done to them that the original game's review does no justice.

Gameplay:
This is the overwhelmingly most important part of any game, but even more so in the Strategy RPG Genre. And I am very glad to say that Fire Red and Leaf Green (Henceforth collectively referred to as ''FiLe'') deliver on this in a way unprecedented by previous installments of the series.

Those who have followed Pokémon since its inception will know that Pokémon: Red and Pokémon Blue had the highest leveled and most difficult opponents in the one-player mode, but the metagame for multiplayer was a bit simple.

While your...

THE GOOD:
Catch all 386 pokemon. Graphics and animation. added extras.

THE BAD:
The wirless adapter can go up to 3m radius. That sucks

SUMMARY:
This game is really fun to play. It gets boring after a long time though. You can trade to Fr/Lg/Ru and Sapphire to catch all the pokemon. The game is coming out in 23rd September and you can buy it all stores. I recommend game to little kids from 4-13 yearolds. The game comes with a wireless adapter which can connect up to thirty nine people in a union room. The game features a new room calleed the Union room. YOu can battle trade and chat up to 39 people. The wirless adapter can connect to a 3m radius. Nintendo are making wonderspots so the wirless adapter can connect up to 300m. They are currently testing out the wonder spots in Japan and New York(pokecenter).

Written by D Man 2
THE GOOD:
It has good graphics, good new pics for the original 151 pokemon, and comes with a free wireless adapter, which you can use to battle or trade wirelessly

THE BAD:
Still doesn't have motion graphich like crystal, cant go in diagonal, which isn't the game's fault, and it's sort of like a remake of the RBY versions

SUMMARY:
This game is very good! It comes out in english on 9-8-2004, and is already out in japanese...but you have to order it on the internet(i.e. import it).

Also, you can experience the good old days by visiting johto!!!

I hope that you found this useful!
