"...Mega Man Zero proves that platform doesn't necessarily mean boring, not even to critics who slog through platform titles on a weekly basis on the Game Boy Advance. This is platform gaming done well, with some fantastic production values but I look forward to its next iteration where, hopefully, the story emphasis will play an even greater role in justifying the action."
"Zero is an impressive action game that definitely isn't for everyone."
"Graphically, this game's extremely slick -- Capcom went with a hand-drawn look for both the cutscenes as well as the scrolling backgrounds. Character sprites are well animated with several frames of motion, and the game even uses a few sprite tricks like scaling and rotation to offer even more dynamic graphic effects... The music is also really awesome, putting the Game Boy Advance's sound hardware to good use."

"The design produced for the GBA is a great, challenging one, with many different missions, non-stop action, and satisfying explosions and other effects. The slowdown is a bit of a drag, as is the way you select your missions, but these two things alone shouldn't deter you from terrific, great-looking action title for the Nintendo handheld."

"An extremely difficult game that holds true to the Megaman tradition, despite lacking the blue bomber himself."
