THE GOOD: There are so many things I can and will put it. I want to tell everyone who is reading this; forget the other scores and such, this game is the best one is the Battle network seres. Here are a few reasons why: -More Chips -New graphics -DoublSoul -DarkChips -Long story -Good bosses -e-reader compatible There are many new things to this game. The biggest improvement is the doublsoul. It lets you fuse with another soul that you met. Its really useful and you need to sacrifice a chip to get it.
THE BAD: Not much to do here. The only negatives to this game don't really bring it down at all. Here are the only downsides: -When you use a dark chip, you heath permanently goes down by 1. -1 save file Not much, only a few factors that effect the game to me.
SUMMARY: Megaman is an program installed on a PET, he is one of the main characters along with Lan, his owner. The seres started in 2001 with battle network. Unfortunately, the seres went on to its 6th and final game in 2006. This one came out in 2004, and its the best one yet. This game features a double soul in which you may join with another soul that you met. It was one of the major improvments from the other games. Im going to categorize this review into some sections so you dont need to read the whole thing in order to find what you are looking for.
The above video is an intro to the game. Gameplay: 10/10 Reason:The gameplay is fantastic. This game is classified as an Action RPG. Instead of a regular turned based, you attack at will. You control Megaman by using the D-Pad. By pressing up, you can move up and down the column of and by pressing right and left, you can move horizontally on the stage. This will be very useful by dodging attacks. On the battle field, you can hold B and charge up a shot called Mega Buster. Holding it in will do more damage. You can power it up later on. Thats not the only thing you can attack your enemies with. Early on, the game will teach you how to use chips. Chips let you use special attacks on viruses. During a phase, you must wait for the gauge bar to fill up in order to use chips again. Press L or R to activate this.
Chips in this game, and the other ones and lettered from A-Z. Only chips with the same letter can be used or the same chips. So if there is a Cannon A and a Cannon B, you can use them regardless of the letter. You can use a Cannon A and a Wide shot A because they both have A. You can't use Cannon A and Wideshot B because they are not the same letter or chip. You can pair the Cannons up regardless of letter and the wideshots regardless of letter because they are the same card. You may carry up to 5 cards in one turn.
In this game and all the other megaman Battle Network games, you need a HP memory in order for you to gain health. Each HP memory you get gives you 20 more HP permanently. The NaviCUST also may let you add blocks that would let you add HP+200 or even more. The NaviCUST may also let power up you Mega Buster, so instead of doing 10 damage every powered up shot, you can do 20 and maybe even 30.
You may also power up these chips in a special way. For example, if you had Cannon A, Cannon B and Cannon C, they will fuse into one chip and become Mega cannon. It does much more damage then using Cannon A Cannon B and Cannon C separate. Using this ability is called a program advance. There are many different chips to use for a program advance. In this video, here is another program advance called mom quake.
Double soul are a new thing in this game. You may make a double soul with enemy's you meet. For example, you first double soul is Guts, Lan's best friend. It increases your strength 2 fold and you can break object in your way such as blocks and such. In this game, there are 12 double souls you can get. Each and every double soul gives you a certain ability.
One thing you can do in this game stun the viruses. Doing it can be tricky but all you have to do is hit the enemy before it attacks. It gives you something called full synchro. The next chip you use will have double attack power. It really helps when you are fighting bosses. If you do a program advance and a full syncro then the program advances attack will be doubled. After you stun the enemies, the will be unable to move for a while so make sure you get them fast. In this video, you see the user fight the final boss and use full syncro in order to beat him. He used an awesome combo to kill him.
Music: 9/10 Reason: There are many themes to the game. Plenty of songs on and on. The game is very wide and vast which is why the music is so good. There are Character themes, songs that go with the sadness of the story, and more for each portal you jack into. Some bosses have their own themes to it too. Needless to say, the music was never boring to me. This game, as well as the music made me not want to put my GameBoy Advance down.
Graphics: 8/10 Reason: The graphics are sprites, they are not up-to-date like others but all and all, the graphics haven't really improved at all. Thats not a bad thing, over the course of 4 years, sprites don't need to be updated or looking at better. These ones are fine. The graphics on the main world are fine. The graphics on the battles are better though. Megaman is like how he was in the other games. Taller, and better looking.
Story: 8/10 Reason: The story takes place in 200X. At the beginning, you see a Scientist complaining about how boring the job is. Well, he is about to get a wakeup call. Later on, the find out that a meteor is hurling twords earth. There is seemingly nothing that earth can do to stop it. So it's MegaMan and Lan up to save the earth. Plot twists and a un-predictable storyline really makes this game worth your money.
Overall:35/40 Reason: The game is great. You got the same chips from other games so you know how to do the basics and the storyline is great. The graphics are not a problem at all. They are one of the best sprite-used seres I have ever seen and every game, besides starforce, just keeps getting better. New additions to from the other games make this one on of a kind. Trust me, beating the game, is not the end of the game. There is much more to be done after, if you watch to collect all the chips.
THE GOOD: 3 Tournaments 6 Souls to get Many chips Good story Big area Huge net Same old people
THE BAD: To short Gets anoying
SUMMARY: This is a good game. Not as good as the previus game due to length. Buts still good there are many hours of gameplay. And 2 versions to get. The multiplayer system has been updated so you can save your friends profile and batle them. There are loads of program advances to learn. And some secret chips to get. There are many people to batle you will always get a batle just jack in and fight. The program advances can be hard to learn but rewarding when yuo figure one out. Once you complte this you will get to play the other version to get another 3 souls. Then when you finish that you can play an even harder mode. This sums up to be a realy good game.
THE GOOD: -Soul Unison -Ability To Fight Normal Navis -New Navi Customizer Programs and Combos -Dark Chips
THE BAD: -Kind Of Short Storyline -Graphics -No continuation of Bass -Final Boss Too Much Like Last One -Only One Unison At A Time
SUMMARY: I wasn't too happy about the cartoony graphics they used in this game. I prefered the more realistic graphics they used in MMBN 2 and 3.
As for the story line, it just seemed a bit short compared to the last Megaman Battle Network games.
I couldn't help but notice that the final boss, Duo, is much like Alpha, the final boss in the last game. This made it seem a bit like you were playing the same game, but it turned out to be good.
I did like the Soul Unison. It just seemed to throw out a little something different than just normal style changes since that would have gotten old soon. This also gave you a chance to use mives like that of navis like Protoman and Numberman, and you looked pretty cool, too. Unfortanately, you could only keep one type of unison at a time, while in past games you could keep two styles at a time.
They didn't much of a continuation of Bass in this game, and that is what usually draws out the fans.
I enjoyed fighting normal navis. I jave wanted to do that since the second game, and they finally made it possible.
Dark Chips a great since they allow you to choose to be eveil or good. I go with good since I don't like the negative effects of evil, but that is just me.
This a great game, but only big Megaman fans should get it. If you are trying to figure out which game to buy, I suggest MMBN2 and then 3.
SUMMARY: This game is the best game i've ever played on my GBA. It has a TON of replay value, and is just really fun. I'd recommend everyone who has ever played a mega man battle network game to buy this and play it to the end. So the game stays challenging, after every time you beat it, the enemies get tougher. You can't just beat this game one play through either because you can't even get a lot of good things on one play through. I give this game two thumbs WAY UP! Also, since there are two games, the both have very different missions that are extremely fun and challenging. The souls system is great too! Its really fun to turn into another navi, and play with their abilities. But, you can't get all of the souls on the first play through. So to put it im lamest terms, this game is the best, and its worth every penny.

THE GOOD: The newest installment of the Battle network is amazing beyond anything I could possibly imagine. For one thing, there is a new villain. The Dark Chip Nebula Crime Syndicate. Also, the storyline is great. There are new Navis, such as Aquaman, Topman and Shademan. The new battle system, Full Synchro, is very different and can even have an entire strategy based on its powerful new efects. The Soul Unison system was well made, though I a soul only lasts 3 turns, you can have more than one. (Not at a time of course)
Also, in this version and this version ONLY, Protoman is in it.
THE BAD: Although this game features many new Navis, You will NOT be able to go up against long time rival/partner Gutsman, who is only available in Red Sun, along with Roll. Both have thier own Styles. Besides for some things that are always in the games that have been split up into the two different versions, I see no problems. Wait. You cant Add chips anymore, but that doesnt really matter, espescially for those who favoed Custom Style in previous games.
SUMMARY: First, Ill go into a bit more on the Full Syncro System. In this, Megaman is linked to emotions which effect battle. He can be Normal, Angry, Worried, in Full Syncro, or, DARK. Remember in Battle network 3 when you beat an enemy right before it attacked? Well, now when you do that, even if the enemy doesnt become deleted, Full Syncro is activated. In this mode, your next chip will do Double Damage (Use with a Program Advance, very good strategy!) and enemys blink right before they attack. After using an attacking chip, Full Syncro deactivates unless you reactivated it when you hit the last enemy.
Also, in this game, it is divided into Tournaments, and are played so that even two Blue Moon players might face different opponents in the tournaments. Although there are no more Styles, there are Souls which I mentioned in the good. When you defeat a certain Navi, you will obtain its Soul. To activate a Soul, you must sacrifice a chip of a certain type. For instance, when activating ProtoSoul, you must sacrifice a sword chp. When activating AquaSoul, you must sacrifice an Aqua Element chip. Same with the other souls and thier signature Chip Types.
This game has Secret Chips, Giga Chips espescially for each version, new virsuses and chips to go with them, and many other hidden suprises.
I dont think you need to know much more really. For those of you new to the Battle network Series, try starting with this game, or the other Version.
