GBA  Very fun game 5.0

THE GOOD:
-Good RPG setup
-Fun liberation missions
-New crossover battle mode

THE BAD:
-A little too hard

SUMMARY:
Stroy: Lan's mother asks him to do a little errand, then Lan gets an email! It's his dad, Lan goes to Scilab but moments before Lan's dad is about to show him and his friends something, the evil force Nebula has kidnapped Dr.Hikaria! But a strange navi has asked for Megamans help to join a team of navis!

Varied Characters: Megaman is the hero of the game and when him and Lan work together nothing can stop them. Colonel, the leader of the team he is very brave, and has plenty of skill. Knightman has great defence and is very loyal to the team. Shadowman may seem evil....but he is not he can be very sly and fast. Tomhawkman uses his mighty axe to demolish any and every foe in his path. Altough Toadman may seem small he packs a punch and will encourage his teamates to win. Numberman can come in handy for the team with his unike ability to unlock doors, traps you name it.

2P mode: 2 player mode is very fun! You can chose crossover battle mode, or fight a friend and whoever wins gets their opponents rarest chip!

Liberation missions: Liberation missions are filled with strategy. You have to liberate panels, and defeat the Dark loids (bosses) by controlling your team members!

Graphics and sound/music: The graphics are colorful and active. Music, and sound in the game fits nicely with the background.

Overall: Megaman battle network 5 is very fun, and challenging, but it is a little hard but a little toughness here and there wont kill anyone. My overall score is 5.0.

THE GOOD:
Good graphical animation
Interesting storyline
Replay value is decent
Liberation missions are fun at times
Challenging
Soul Unisons are nice

THE BAD:
Liberation missions are annoying at times
Some parts of the game were too difficult
Translation was okay but lacked professionalism.
Ugly Graphical design
Nerfed P.As
Nerfed Chips. (Sort of)

SUMMARY:
No small talk here, straight to the review

Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay was quite good. The liberation missions were fun but at times predictable, but still it added an uncanny twist to the game. If you ask me Capcom pulled this game off, with the missions that you can play with other navis instead of just Megaman.

Storyline: 7/10
The whole storyline was quite intense and every scenario is worth watching. How Capcom described and showed the way the internet was taken over was rather interesting. Twists in the plotline also kept the plot lively and interesting. However, the ending was somewhat unbelievable and how the villain was apprehended was also somewhat cliched.

Graphics: 8/10 and 4/10
I've rated the graphics twice for a reason. The first one stands for the animation of the graphics, the color texture, tone, pixellation yadda yadda and the second one for the design. The animation was very good compared to most GBA games with smooth and even colour and hardly noticeable pixels. BUT... the design was awful, if you ask me compared to Megaman Battle Network 4. Although the panels on the battle screen looked more like the original MMBN, I preferred the MMBN 4 panels. The sanctuary panels looked plain ugly and the final boss looked like something from an old Viking movie.

Or maybe I just hate MMBN 3/2/1 art.

Music/Sound: 9/10
The music was a great improvement from MMBN 4. In MMBN 4, we had annoying repetitive, really high pitched music. Crisis music from MMBN 4 can burn your ears off. In MMBN 5, they've earned back their kudos. The crisis music is far better and calmer to one's earlobes. It is also played less. The timing of the songs was great but changed frequently if you kept entering different areas in the real world or just finished deleting a virus. That factor and the sound effects were the only two things which prevented the music section from getting a 10. The sounds were somewhat corny and reminded me of old Gameboy Mario games.

Characters: 9/10
Characters from this game were quite original. Each of them had a different variety of clothing and looks. My only criticism is that sometimes, the characters could not be seen clearly enough. For one scenario, I thought a girl was an overly large peanut...

Translation: 9/10
After the translation fiasco which was MMBN 4, MMBN 5 amends nearly everything. Near every sentence in the storyline made sense. The only few problems are that they tend to abbreviate words and descriptions making them harder to understand.

Everything else: 8/10
Wide varieties of chips, interesting soul unisons and tonnes more.

Overall:
Great game overall, I would rate this game just a nose hair behind the classics such as Final Fantasy series and the countless Mario games since the storylines could have been a bit longer and the graphics design a bit more detailed.

Rent or Buy:
Buy. Hands down.

Note: These views are all in my opinion so don't go ranting about how much you hate me since I criticized MMBN 5.

GBA  As Good as It Gets 4.5

THE GOOD:
-Liberation Missions
-New Chips
-New Soul Unisons
-New P.A.s
-Chaos Unison[Dark Chip Unison]
-Battle images
-Higsby's Shop

THE BAD:
-Only 1 of the same P.A per battle
-noticable typos and grammical errors

SUMMARY:
Part 5 of the Battle Network series is here. This game doesn't show a whole lot of new features like the past ones have, but they have made some good, and bad, changes. Let's start with the bad.

For some reason, they decided that we should only be able to use a certain P.A.[Program Advance] once per battle. This has made a lot of people mad, since in previous games folders were often built to execute the same P.A. over and over again.
As listed, there are more typos and problems with grammar then there should be, but this isn't exactly a big deal.

Now, on to the good. Liberation missions are a new feature where you must use strategy to get through constant obstacles[almost all involving the floor panels]. Deafeat viruses, mini-bosses, find hidden keys, battlechips, order points, and health to proceed to proceed to the boss of the stage.
As always, this game gives tons of new chips to battle with. Though this means losing some of the old ones, the good out weighs the bad.
Soul Unison is back, with new souls to transform with. Your choice of 6 different souls, all with different abilities and strategies to use.
Chaos Unison is like Soul Unison, only you integrate with Dark Chips instead of standard chips. This last for a shorter time than regular Unison, but if much more powerful. If used correctly, you can have constant use of the power of Dark Chips, but if used wrong, the Darkness will turn on you and attack. Be careful when using Chaos Unison.
In this game, far more chips are able to be bought at Higsby's, or from Net Dealers. This helps prevent the annoyance of searching around the net or killing viruses for good chips.

Megaman games are still pretty much as good as they get for Game Boy Advanced games. The story is easy to pick up on, so you do not have to go and play the other ones first to understand what's going on. I recommend this game for anyone who likes strategy and quick action video games.
