"Mario Pinball Land is a graphically amazing title, but the gameplay itself is far more flawed and annoying than it is fun to play. And considering Nintendo already successfully hit the pinball genre last year in Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire, Mario-branded game is a large step backwards in game design. This game may have more pinball "challenges" than Pokemon Pinball, but when players have to struggle through some of the frustratingly bad design implementations, it's almost not worth the playtime."

"The bottom line is this: had Nintendo done a straight-forward pinball game it would've been well-done but boring because we've seen mascot pinball before, so Mario Pinball Land is a welcome change of pace. Of course, the fact that it's been so well done is the bonus. It may irk you on occasion, but it's definitely worth checking out."

"The game kicks off with a rendered, slideshow-style introduction cut-scene featuring Mario, Toad, and Peach. Toad jumps into a spherical device that rounds him out into a ball shape, and a cannon launches him into a target."

"Super Mario Ball is cute and the Mario theme is well applied, with lots of familiar elements from games throughout the series, but fun soon gives way to pure frustration and the whole affair is over far too quickly."
