THE GOOD:
It's a very long game with alot to do.
Very hard and involves alot of strategy.
Multi-player is good fun.

THE BAD:
It sucks when you work out a great strategy and it doesn't work out.

SUMMARY:
Advance Wars is a turn-based strategy game and a very long and difficult one too. Sometimes you will work something that has to work and it just doesn't so the game keeps you playing for ages. The graphics are pretty good and the battles vut-scenes are pretty good too. The sound is ok but nothing really that special. I really like the form of strategy you have to use and the controls are really easy to use for them. The multi-player is good fun over the link cable and can also keep you entertained for hours at a time.

Overall i'd have to say this is one of the best Gameboy Advance games out there and i'm looking foward to playing the second in the series.

THE GOOD:
Awesome Music!!!
Cool Units
FUN Modes

THE BAD:
NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUMMARY:
I love this game! I can play it 24 hours a day. My favorite player is Kanbei or possibly Max or Andy. I will buy this game(if I didn't already have it) for $1000! I recommand players who like to strategy games that are VERY fun to buy this game!!!!! It is very high tech and quite hard. I have beaten every single thing except the last War Room Mission. That doesn't mean you can quit. You can always get better grades from D to C to B to A to S which is the best. I have gotten 7 S's and there are still about 100 more for very player in every mission. And also, you can also get better scores in War Room missions and Higher Ranks. But if you had just started the game, you will have to go through field training which isn't as fun, but if you ask me, it's like heaven!

SUMMARY:
I'm Not going to go into great detail about this games Single Player. It's fun, but not that important to the game. Its the multiplayer thats fascinating. In it you and whoever you're playing against pick characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Then you take turns building an army. You can make bombers, tanks, all sorts of infantry, then attack you opponent. Sounds childishly simple? Wrong, you only have a limited amount of money to build factories and units. You also only have a limited amount of moves before your turn is over. Games can go on for hours, so Its a perfect time killer in a long car ride.

THE GOOD:
able to link up to four players in one game.
buy maps. Get secret characters, Control a whole army,

THE BAD:
Not such a big selection, but the single pak style only has 3 stages.

SUMMARY:
This game is fun! You play as the commander of the army, you control your troops in the Iron storm style, you know like 10 troops per unit. You use squares instead of hexagons and you can play in many modes like, VS Mode, Campaigne, Field training, battle maps, Creat maps! and many other cool stuff. Music sounds great and the variety of diffrent types of C.O stats are really cool too! With tons of diffrent stuff this game is worth the money and has the best!!! Yeah the best ever!!!! Type of gameplay, 2D makes this game good! two thumbs up all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE GOOD:
This game has it's goods. To start, field training really helps those new to Advance Wars. I know it helped me! The Map Creator is a great way to go head to head with a friend on your own battle field. It's also a good idea to create a large cast of characters and a story to go along with the Campaigne Mode. Also, you're provided with annoying yet catchy music while battling!

THE BAD:
Just like it's goods, this game has it's bads. Though the music can get annoying, that's just a minor thing. To start, though Field Training helps, there's no way to quit to go to Campaign unless you complete it all or you start a new data file. Though the Field Training levels are easy, once you get out to the real field, your opponents are VERY challenging! I haven't yet beat Olaf and I've had the game for a while!

SUMMARY:
This game overall is good, though it has it's goods and bads (God, how many times have I said that now?!) I give this game a 4.9 because it's not fully capable of earning a 5. However, a great, addictive strategy game worth buying! This deserves even three (strangely..) thumbs WAY up!

THE GOOD:
Hot game, slick graphics, crips sound massive startegy

THE BAD:
Maybe a little to short

SUMMARY:
"Lock and load!"
This was my very first GBA game. I ran into the store as son as it came out and grabbed my prized Advanced Wars cartridge. I carefully shoved it open and started it up in my GBA. Remember the Red Alert Saga, the mech Commander, the War Craft etc? Well this game is actaully an a HUGE action packed startegy game stuffed into the so small GBA! Checking out the game it defiantly isn't a rushed effort that deserves the Nintendo branding. This game was one of the the earlier games to be released along with GBA and most people wouldn't think Of buying due to its "kiddy" kinda look. Personally these are way wrong. You take control of different battle situations and gives oppurtunities, of controling (sometime building) tanks, bombers, recons, troops, fighter jets, artillery and many more range of artillery. You take control of a C.O in other words a "Commanding Officer" . Also by capturing cities will you get more income etc.

"Evil dictator laugh***"
The gameplay is absoluetly the best part. The game consists of moving your units (troops, tanks tec) once each or attacking, joining etc. You move them around and when you choose attack you watch a small animatiojn of your little unit attackign the other which is aweosme. Different terrain effects your troops. What makes it better is that you can play up to 4player using one Gamboy Advanced and one game! As you just pass the gameboy around taking turns. Not to metnion the unlimited replay value that you can build your own battle maps! You can also buy another 100 or so maps by earning coins in the game. This game has alot of things to unlock also such as maps, menus, a whole new mode! And different CO's each with strengths and Weaknesses. This game will keep you busy for a long long time! ^^

The graphics are absoluelty stunning and are actually better than than PSX Red Alerts crusty rushed Effort. Though there isn't much animation involved in the game the animation is still good. The graphics are perfect and the creators even took the time to make diferent expressions of the characters when for example you destroy an opponenents unit your CO might laugh or chuckle or something. When you destroy enemy units the animation of the explosion looks actually like it was taken out of a movie. I Dunno but personaly I can't see any imporovements that could be made for the graphics.

The sound is extremely crisp and nice. You can here the sounds flawlessly and the music is nice too! You'll often find your self humming to the awesome tunes! The sound effects of shooting and you can actually here your men move when you move them.

Summing it up I think this game is truely a work of art and one of the best games on GBA, its not what it can do for you but what you can do for it. A great game. The greatest war/ strategy game in my opinion.

THE GOOD:
-Requires lots of strategy
-Fun
-CO(commanding officer) powers give a unique twist on strategy games
-Great graphics and music
-Many different types of music
-Map design mode
-Long Campaign mode with two difficulties
-Hundreds of vs. maps
-Up to four players

THE BAD:
-The game boy screen is too small
-Complicated tactics are required to even stand a chance in campaign

SUMMARY:
This is one of the best games for game boy advance. It's fun, has good music, great graphics and huge replay value. You can play 4 player multiplayer on one GBA or connect 4 so they can't cheat in Fog of War mode. There is also a shop so you can buy more maps and commanding officers.

THE GOOD:
This game is amazing, not only for a handheld but any platform. The graphics are brilliant, the sound is amazing (will for a GBA) and the gameplay is unbelieveably good and insanely addictive.

THE BAD:
Almost everything has been thought of. My only annoyances are that the music is repetitive and annoying after a while, the CO powers need to be changed a bit for perfection. There are a few other very tiny niggles but they aren't worth mentioning in my opinion.

SUMMARY:
This game is addictive and absolutly massive. There is so much to do. This is turn based strategy at its best. If you love strategy you must buy this.

For example once you have completed the campaign (through which there are multiple routes) you can reattempt it but on the advance setting instead. This takes weeks to complete. You have to think about your every move.

Then there is War room, struggling to get the best scores on every map and the elusive S-rank (this is my favourite mode)

You don't even need to have another GBA to play multiplayer on this game. Just pass the GBA around in vs.mode.

Overall I gave this game a 4.4 (see above)heres how it breaks down:
- gameplay, 4.9 (nearing perfection)
- sound, 3.8 (good but not great)
- looks and graphics, 4.4 (looks nice and the animations are top notch)
- multiplayer, 4.3 (with 4 this is a blast but it can end in stalemate if you are too evenly matched)

Average is 4.35 which rounded up makes 4.4

Please note that this is not a number crunching stat heavy game. Its great for most people looking for a bit of intelligent fun. I would recommend that to enjoy it at its best you be over age 8 though. Take it from me, Its unbelieveably good. Some things are too good to be true, this isn't one of them! Get it NOW!

GBA  GBA Strategy Perfection! 4.4

THE GOOD:
The cutscenes are incredible, the plot is fantastic, and it is one of the most original strategy games I have ever seen.

THE BAD:
The basic map sometimes looks a little plain, but only sometimes.

SUMMARY:
This has to be the most visually impressive strategy game on GBA, with picture perfect battle scenes, and very detailed CO's.

The sounds are of very good quality too, with some impressive tunes and meaty sound effects.

The storyline has to be the good part, though. It's almost like a soap opera! It involves romance, rivalry, cases of mistaken identity, and of course, lots of fighting.

The controls are very good, with all the menu's only a few button clicks away, making the game very easy to pick up and play. The basics are simple, but it takes time to fully master the controls.

Overall, the game is very impressive, with a real sense of originality, and each of the CO's are given a very distinct personality. Easy to play, diffficult to master, Advance Wars has to be one of the GBA's greatest games.

THE GOOD:
It has great gameplay, great plot and everything

THE BAD:
The music can become repetitave and the computer makes sometimes stupid moves. Sometimes...too many people get stuck on The Final Battle. For the first time you scream at the ammount the enemy has, but it isnt as hard unless you give up.

SUMMARY:
This is one amazing game! It has great everything...except for the music. The music can be cool but it can get very repetitave and slowly becomes annoying, but that doesn't take away the fun gameplay! Everything is explained in detail and the missions are exciting. If your looking for a challenge, try the Advanced Campaign to give your head a spin. If you wanna know how good you did on a mission, you have ranks and can see where you could improve. This game has endless play with the design maps mode...although if you could pick the size that'd make the game PERFECT!!! I suggest you get this game!
