THE BAD: Very confusing and very very boring. There are so many better puzzle games out there.
SUMMARY: After just purchasing the unique and pretty damn brilliant 'stronghold' for my pc, I was excited to hear that a game called fortress would be coming out at about the same time on the Game Boy Advance. Beliving the two games to be inter-related, I got it, but wow. What a dissapointment.
Its not a very good game at all. Basically , you have a certain amount of time to build a fortress, whilt your enemy builds one. When your time is up you just bombard each other with whatever weapons are around at the time (there are a few different eras in which to fight), so cavemen fire rocks at the opposing fortress etc.
The game looks pretty cute, with all the little men rushing around to get everything done in time before the enemy attack, but the whole thing is presented very badly on the virge of just looking plain dull.
Due to the rush job of making your Ffortress, they rarely look real at the end. Just a load of jumbled up textures.
All these factors make for a very dull boring game that's nastily stuck in the uncomfortable gap between stratagy and puzzle.
If you want a decent puzzle game at the same price, get the fantastic kurukurukururin. If you want the pinnicle of graphical and gameplay capabilities on the GBA, then I strongly advise you purchase the mind-blowing Golden Sun. If you really are a hardcore puzzle-stratagy fan, then fortress might just be worth a look if its in the 'preowned' section of your shop.
And, if sales a re high of this game, that's where all the sold ones will be...
THE GOOD: Tetris, Command & Conqure... Need I say more
THE BAD: ... Addictive ...
SUMMARY: This game is hard to find info on. So all I can offer is an opinion. And from all the articles I could find along with the few screen shots. This game is goona blow your socks off!!!
