Castlevania COTM blew my mind | 4.5 1 comments |
by skittles07 from , WI, | Feb 10, 2006 |
THE GOOD: - Lots of enemies - Lots of areas - Long Game - Different Games - DSSTHE BAD: - A little Dark - Music gets old SUMMARY: This is the first Castlevania game that I ever bought. My friend was going to get it and I pretty much stole his idea and went out and bought it. It was a great investment. The game has a large number of enemies. They are very different and very cool. Some of the enemies are very difficult and others are extremely easy. They enemies even change after a while. After you beat a certain boss the enemies that you have passed disappear and they are replaced with more difficult enemies that give you more experience. They map of this game is great. There are so many rooms and hidden rooms it makes the game endless fun. You basically have to go around hitting every wall to find all of the hidden rooms in the game. The areas differ a lot. It is not like you are in one dungeon the whole game. You go to a lot of different areas that look different and have different enemies. The game takes a long time to beat which makes it fun. You can't just run through the game in 3 hours. Another great part of the game is that if you beat it you unlock another mode. You can start over in this mode and you will start with different stats and the game will need to be played totally differently. There are 4 different games that you can unlock so you can beat it repeatadly and not do the same thing every time. The DSS in this game is awesome. You have a whip and you can equip two cards that you find on your journey and then your whip will get special powers. There are 20 different cards so there are a lot of combinations of special whips you can get. There isnt much bad about this game but there are a few things. The game is rather dark. It can be hard to see if you dont have a major source of light around you. The music also gets a little old after a while but it isnt unbearable.
Overall this is a great game that I would recommend to anybody. |

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon- can the name get any longer? | 5.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Everything is good. The graphics blew my mind. The music is excellent. The game is very addicting, pretty much all you could ask for in a Castlevania game!THE BAD: It's a little dark to see. Luckily the GBA SP has a light up screen to make your quest a bit easier on the eyes. SUMMARY: Nathan's master has been kidnapped by Dracula, and it's up to him to rescue the old man before the full moon appears and Dracula is at his total destructive power. Meanwhile, Nathan's rival Hugh is out there somewhere, thinking that Nathan is trying to take all his glory. As if! There are plenty of monsters to slay, plus the power of the DSS gives you special powers, such as Fire Whip and Freeze Sword. There are many ways to take down your foes, but you must master the power of the elements and find the most effective methods for dispatching the minions of Dracula. It's a brilliant game, much like Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation. Even if you're not much of a fan of these sort of games, this game is a must-add to any GBA collection. I suggest you pick it up if you haven't already done so. I see no reason for anyone not to like this game, it's practically perfect and it deserves a 5 out of 5, I don't see how you can live without it. Case closed. |

THE GOOD: Great Replay value. Hard bosses that require stradegy. Cool Card combos to crush enemies with.THE BAD: That Skeleton Medalist is so hard to catch(but he's worth it) Music's a bit lame in some areas. The final, final ending sucks. SUMMARY: Sweet game. I've beaten all of its modes. Thief is my favorite. If you need any help just Email me. Here's a tip, learn how to card switch, it's a life saver, especailly if you've got the Summon Cockratice DSS. It's murder to even the toughest of foes. Not so good against flying enemies though. gtffffff fffffffff ffffffffffff fffffffff fffffffff fffffffff fffffffff fffffffrt rtffffff fff fffff ffffffff ffffffff ffffffff ffffffff ffffffff fff fffff ffffffff ffffffff ffffffff ffff ffff fffff fff fffff fff ffffffff ffffffff fff fffff ff fffffff fffff fffff |

THE GOOD: hours of gameplay great weapons DSS.. bosses it was so cool! there is always new baddies that are upgraded so their not so easy to killTHE BAD: slowdowns, sometimes to hard, DARK SCREEN, not enought weapons SUMMARY: this is a great game! really thats all i can say about it. i loved the DSS the different kinds or aremor. the level up system was great. it was just a perfectly planned game and it got me hooked. the graphics were great but really it should have a lot more weapons that you can choose. this game is not for the people that give up right away! this is a really long game and i thought that sometimes it got old. but all in all it was a hott game that i would recomend to anyone that wants a challange :) you have to know where you are going or this game will make no sense. the DSS makes up for the lack of different weapons if you master them all. this is a great game!! |

THE GOOD: Excellent music A huge, well-designed world Lots of items Cool level-up system Tons of different enemies Lots of abilities to learn
THE BAD: Some bosses are very difficult to beat, maybe to difficult Some slight slowdown SUMMARY: Graphics: Nice-looking enemies and bosses, great backgrounds, but some nasty slowdown is not good.
Sound: Well-working sound-effects, and some really great music, that features many classy tunes, making it the games strongest point.
Gameplay: Some of the bosses might be over-difficult, but the game is pretty sizable, well-designed and great fun to play.
Lifespan: Levelling-up system, many secrets and some neat reasons to replay the game makes it last for a long time.
Overall: A very good game indeed, and one title that you should seriously consider buying. |

THE GOOD: Everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE BAD: WHAT!NO LIBRAIRIAN! SUMMARY: One of the best series of action games ever is the legendary Castlevania series.Oh how I'd hope for another symphony of the night and now,it has returned! There are lots of secrets in the castle such as all those sweet cards and different armors. The only thing that sucks is that there's no librairian.Further more,I think they should bring back Alucard.HE KICKED ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Especially with the rune sword.

THE GOOD: the backgrounds are nice and the music is great aswell as atmospheric.THE BAD: The sprites are very poorly animated, it is far too dark and the gba's poor backlighting doesn't help that along. SUMMARY: I really enjoyed this game even though it was almost impossible tos ee at times and was a little too difficult. I'll admit though I may well mark this down after having played harmony of dissoance, but it is still a good game well worth the money and will give you many hours of pleasure. It incorporates features from dracula x for the snes and symphony of the night for the ps1 making it a really enjoyable game. |

THE GOOD: great nastalgia 2d side-scroller. i havnt had this much fun in a scroller since sonic advance came out.THE BAD: difficulty!!!!! this game is so hard that you will be pulling your hair out!!! SUMMARY: this is a fantastic side scroller, with all of the hair-ripping difficulty of all those old arcade games that you wish you could forget.
the graphics are so-so, but the true highlight of the game is the DSS function. picking up cards from fallen enemies allows you to perform devastating magic attacks that gives you just a little more ass-kicking ability.
all-in-all, this game is truly worth the money. replay value is sketchy, but a new, harder, and more unique play mode is unlocked upon each completion.
have fun ripping your hair out!
