THE GOOD:
• Long hours of gameplay.
• Decent, attractive graphics.
• Wi-Fi compatible.
• Makes good use of the touchscreen.

THE BAD:
• Potentially uninteresting storyline.

SUMMARY:
After a couple of years playing through Pokémon Diamond, I was starting to drift away from the Pokémon series and never really considered getting back into it. Then, shortly after Pokémon SoulSilver (remake of Pokémon Silver) was released, I decided to out and buy the game. Ever since I have found myself playing the game practically everyday, enjoying every moment of it.

As soon as you pick up the game and start playing for the first time, you'll realize how truly stunning the graphics are. Every little detail is stunning: the buildings, the scenery, everything! It's also worth noting that the grass in which wild Pokémon are found does not have the same tiled effect as there was in the prior Pokémon games. Instead, it has a much more textured effect and looks better in general.

After I finally found the end to my grinding through Pokémon Platinum, I wondered if I would ever be able to pick up yet another Pokémon RPG game ever again. We have the same stationary plot, the vaguely detailed characters and the same old silent protagonist every game and I can't see Nintendo changing much, if any, of that... ever. However only a few months after my ponderings lo and behold Nintendo smacked me in the face with yet another new duel-set of games as if you make me feel guilty of even thinking of leaving the franchise. Ladies and Gentlemen I introduce to you Pokémon HeatGold and SoulSilver. I have to say initially I was excited for these games, and judging by the reception members of a multitude of forums gave them, I wasn't alone. THE GOOD:

A huge entertaining world just waiting to be explored.

Extremely fun and exciting graphics that light the world with amazing color.

Over 400 pokemon to revisit and bond with.

Have your leading pokemon follow right behind you!

Enter in - game contests or go play some mini - games at the pokeathlon when you have some time to kill.

Battle your friends and then record them to share with the world!

The ability to visit not only one region, but TWO!

Fun nre pokegear and a easier use of the touch screen.

A whole new pokewalker device to play with!

THE BAD:

Annoying HMs to deal with.

I was so hesitant when buying this game because I was just getting back into Pearl, and I didn't feel like spending another whole forty dollars on something that was almost the same. THE GOOD:
Some of the positive points of the game:

- Revisit the Pokemon Silver world once again, nearly completely overhauled (other than the storyline)
- The new Diamond/Pearl/Platinum graphics were added to this game, which I enjoy a lot more this time around, compared to the D/P/P generation. Gyms, houses, etc look much better. Bright and colourful graphics.
- Bring over 450 Pokemon into the Silver world, through in game playing or Wi-Fi trading from other Pokemon games
- Huge game with tons of things to do. Easily over 200 hours of playing time
- Johto and Kanto regions to be explored, one being unlocked after beating the first region
- Two Pokemon Leagues, one being at the end of the Johto region and the other being unlocked after getting through a good amount of the Kanto region. The second League is basically the same one as before, just beefed up with higher levels and better Elite Four opponents

THE GOOD:
Firstly, the feeling of Nostalgia for many fans of the Original games will be delighted. Everything from the Music, to the beautifully redesigned cities, sprites, and gameplay.

The Pokemon following you around is arguably one of the coolest little features the creators added to the game, as well as the sound effects of when you approach a body of water, you can hear all the sounds of Footsteps, and water flowing. The Pokewalker accessory is another great addition to the remake as well. The Rival character actually seems more personable for some reason in Soul Silver, and is a plus as well.

The best feature, in my opinion, is the ability to journey onwards to the Kanto Region after you manage to defeat the Elite Four. Unlike other games, the journey doesn't end after you defeat the Champion, you're actually able to go and travel to another region to collect 8 more Gym Badges, and a chance to catch other Pokemon from Kanto as well.

THE GOOD:
There are a lot of updated features as you might have known. I liked the advanced graphics and storyline. I also liked the new Pokedex that was added. There is also something known as the Pokegear. It shows the town map, has a radio feature (radio not real) and you can change the color. You may also call people you have registered in the game (not real calling. Only with characters in the game). And the best part about t is that you don't have to walk around and charge it and things like that. I also liked that you can register two key items and not one like in other games.

THE BAD:
WOW! I rate it a perfect 10! This game is all good and no bad.
Please do not cheat it this awesome game.
You will miss out on all the good fun if you cheat.

Maybe there might be something bad for you.

Soul silver and heart gold are remakes of the 2nd generation of pokemon games, gold, silver and crystal, this games are a mix of the original 2nd gen with some new elements.

Before moving in the gameplay/plot/Graphics/,etc. i need to remark the monumental importance of the 2nd generation of pokemon, in first gen there were several inpediments that made the game to not so fun. The inability to remove HM moves and the limitation or restrain of the moves a pokemon could learn made first gen (pokemon red, blue, yellow and green [the last being a japanese exclusive version]) not so fun. Things changed and a lot for 2nd gen, Pokemon Gold silver and crystal (and since this point onward I will refer to this as G/S/C) introduced new mechanics, move deleter, egg moves, new TM's, pokes, moves, cities, evolutions, methods of evolution (the "love" factor, if a pokemon like evee loves you a lot it can evolve into umbreon or espeon instead of its standart 3 forms: Jolteon, Vaporeon, and flareon), t...
