Pokemon Dash - Not as bad as it seems. | 4.3 0 comments |
by Greeno from Upstate, NY, USA | Apr 22, 2005 |
THE GOOD: -You get to use the stylus for the whole game. (Hey, isn't that why they made the touch screen?) -Easy game play. -Munchlax, one of the newest Pokemon, is in this game. -Multiplayer option. -You can link up with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald (once it releases) to get new tracks.THE BAD: -You can only play as Pikachu. -None of the Pokemon you play against change as the game progresses. -Most of the Pokemon never change places. (i.e. - Munchlax is almost always last, Meowth is almost always first.) SUMMARY: If you like Pokemon, and if you like racing, you will absolutely love this game. At first, I didn't want to buy this game. I was going to rent it first at Blockbuster. But I decided to buy it. If I didn't like it, than I could always give it to my friend or sell it or something. But I ended up loving this game. I hate racing, and everything about it. But I loved this game. Even though you can only play Pikachu, this game is excellent. This is kind of like "Hey You, Pikachu!" and "Pokemon Channel", in a way. It's not like other Pokemon games, but it's just something different for once. But unlike the other games, this will not be one you can get bored of easily. It is not the same thing, because with many new tracks, many new difficulties, and many new options, this game should be in the top ten games for the Nintendo DS. |

THE GOOD: It's a lot of fun for racing! for like 15 minutes.. you can hook it up to all the GBA games pokemon leaf green and fire red up. To unlock new maps that you can race from, that adds some fun but not a lot -.- THE BAD: The game isn't to great.. I mean all you do is race.. with Pickachu.. and there's so much fun you can have with a 1 player game.. with Pickachu as the main and ONLY character.. it's one of those games that are meant to be rented from Blockbuster =) SUMMARY: Everyone likes racing, like Mario Kart DS but then racing with Pickachu repeatdly with no other characters to choose from, not using any of the buttons just the STYLUS to race.. some people are gonna be needing a screen protector -.- all in all don't buy it... just try n' borrow it from one of your poor friends that actually bought it =) that's what I did..beat the whole game.. easy.. not to long .. and kinda a useless pokemon game. I think pokemon kinda quickly put this together to have a game on the Nintendo DS instead of letting pokemon fans wait until Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.. Wait until the "REAL" pokemon games. |

It's a Pokemon GameTHE BAD: Only get to play with Pikachu Get's boring after 20 min So bad you wanna return it You have to beat lot's of stuff until you get to the special 5 courses only(starting) Little Pokemon you get to race(ex.munchlax, meowth, bulbasaur Can't use any buttons only stylus SUMMARY: I got this game for $40.00 and when I got home and played it for 15 min I wanted to return it.It's that bad.I rate this game a 3/10.Not a very good game huh?I don't recommend that you get this game.No.I recommend you get Lost in the Blue or Wario Ware instead.I was hoping you got to use the controls like A and B but you can only use the stylus. You can only Race in this game. When I first saw it I thougt it would be like Pokemon Sapphire,Pokemon FireRed but no this game is only racing.yep.You heard me race,race,race.BORING.If you don't believe me and go ahead and buy the game.Get ready to return it.(only if you lost the receipt like I did!WAAAA)It would be funner if you got to play it like double Dash. |

Pokemon Dash a game for racers? | 4.1 0 comments |
by dtimmy14 from Coventry, , England | Mar 16, 2005 |
THE GOOD: *Easy game to play with the use of the DS touch screen *Frist game to featuer Muchalax *Hook up with Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald to create new courses in the shape of your GBA Pokémon.
THE BAD: *Very repetive *Only race as Pikachu *No swimming races/flying races SUMMARY: A key aspect of the gameplay in Pokémon Dash is exploring the sky in a hot-air balloon. Frequently, large areas of water or other impassable terrain will stand between your Pokémon and the next checkpoint. Unless you find a Lapras to ferry you across the water, you'll have to locate a hot-air balloon and take to the sky. Use the radar to find the next checkpoint, then dive toward your goal. If the ground is soft enough, you can use the stylus to pop the hot-air balloons and make Pikachu plummet to the ground faster.
The main mode of play is Grand Prix mode, which challenges you to clear five cups, each with five unique courses. It's no cake walk to make it to the final checkpoint in first place, and the competition becomes even tougher in Hard and Expert Grand Prix modes.
So inconculsion Pokémon Dash is a fun racing game with a fresh approach. Despite its seemingly simple gameplay, the competition can get really intense! Pokémon Dash is an obvious choice for Pokémon fans, but even casual fans of racing games will get a kick out of this title, especially when battling friends in the six-player multiplayer mode |

THE GOOD: Pokemon + Racing = FUN! A large amount of courses...
THE BAD: Like all racing games they don't really last very long playing through in 1P mode. SUMMARY: Pokemon Dash was released March 11th to coincide with the launch of the Nintendo DS here in the UK.
Hmmm I've never really reviewed a racing type game before but here I go:
The game is unlike most racing type games you've played but it is very clever and original idea that Nintendo have came up with here. The game is definitely one to play with your friends as it gets really competitive as you race around the track and take to the air to scout out other checkpoints on the map.
You play as Pikachu and race the host of other Pokemon that are in the game though not all 386 Pokemon are in the game, only a select few.
The game gives you a little tutorial to explain the different items you'll find on the map and how the actual race works and this is hosted by Mucnhlax.
Overall it is a cool game especially in multi-player mode, I wouldn't say it is an absolute must have game but I'm sure any Pokemon fan will appreciate this game until Emerald and Diamond/Pearl version come along. |
