SUMMARY:
Pokemon is now on to its 5th region, but I'm telling you, buying the game is a waste of money. I am a huge pokemon fan but you should stick with the older games.

The plot is just getting really boring. Defeat eight gym leaders and save the world from evil guys, blah, blah, blah. The new pokemon aren't even getting good either. They are running out of ideas. They are naming pokemon out of deer. Sheesh. Generally, the only good pokemon is Hydreigon.

Other than that, the game is dull. The pokemon world, sadly, is falling apart. Seriously, this game isn't even worth it. Getting rid of the underground angered a lot of people. The pokewalker has induced the same effect on pokemon fans.

All right, there are several new things in this pokemon installment. The pokemon, obviously. Now you have two friends that go with you. One is not very keen on fighting, and the other does not truly understand Pokemon The professor is also a girl this time, good for you girls.

Going into tall grass allows you to sometimes battle two pokemon, concluding in a double battle. There are also two new types of battles, triple battles and rotate battles. A triple battle is exactly what is sounds like, while a rotate battle is a single battle, but you can rotate from three pokemon and a pokemon rotated in can attack immediately as opposed to one that is switched in normally.

The battle sequence is the same. Start with an attack, use an item such as potions or boosters, switch to another pokemon, or flee. Pokemon can occasionally land critical hits. Moves can be super effective or not very effective, which affects the amount of damage inflicted or some moves won't work at all depending on types and abilities. There are also more legendary pokemon than there usually is, and Victory Road is slightly different than normal. At some point in the game, you meet the champion, like usual. To get to a new area now, a gym leader will have to give you access so you can't really skip any gym battles or do them out of order.

The zoom out effect gets really annoying, as well as the confusing cities of Unova. Rock smash is now a technical machine, and dive has been brought back. The weather and seasons also change, bringing new pokemon with them. All technical machines are now reusable, so I dont see the point in still having HMs, except they clear things in the field like being able to cross deep water.

There really is nothing nothing good about this game. No way can it compete with games like Leafgreen and Sapphire. If you ask me, Nintendo has two choices: go back to their old ways or shut down pokemon. I would prefer the first choice. Nintendo needs to buck up and do a good job, unlike they have been doing.

Change the storyline from the usual one: choose a starter and work your way to pokemon champion. Battle people and make new friends while meeting new pokemon. Battle the gym leaders and raise your pokemon to max performance, etc. NINTENDO: YOU ARE STARTING TO FAIL. BECOME ONE WITH ALL OF YOUR OLD POKEMON WAYS. GET AHOLD OF YOURSELF! The only way I would recommend getting this game is for you to see for yourself just how bad this game really is. I highly do not recommend this game. I hope this helps!

Wow. You really do not see some of the great things about this game. While I agree with you on the fact of the storyline needing desperate changing, that is no excuse to attack the game. Most of the things you said are true, like the Pokemon are a bit unoriginal. Heck, the three cloud legendarys are just the same sprite with different colors and hairstyles. And the Fire/Fighting starter thing is way overused, they need an original fire starter. Say, perhaps, a Fire/Dark, which is something that I've always thought should exist. Also, I was upset about some of the things that were lost from the 4th Gen. games, such as the Underground, Pokewalker, and the little touch screen button from HG/SS that allows you to not have to hold down B constantly to run. But some really cool stuff was added, too. I like the addition of C-Gear and Entralink. I also enjoy the idea of Dreamworld, even though I haven't tried it yet. Also, I'm not entirely sure you truly are enjoying the full grasp of the game. It takes a heck-load longer to complete then LeafGreen or Sapphire. You also have some interesting things that you can do once per day. Cynthia and Gamefreak Delevoper Morimoto can be battled once per day, along with the welcome addition of getting to battle your rival again. With Cheren in Victory Road and Bianca in the Professor's Lab, they make good little hunks of exp. to get your Pokemon higher leveled. Cynthia and Morimoto are like Red from Soulsilver. Super strong challenges that give a CRAP-load of experience. I think you need to do a bit of research before completely attacking a game.

i had the game and completed it and i must say i wasnt impressed. the only things i liked were how they brought dive back and the treasure place. not many of the pokemon even look cool, but, your right, the experience is great

It really annoys me when people dislike a couple things about a game or are simply biased against a franchise and just give those games 0s and 1s because they are too biased to give it an honest score. (the CoD/Halo/Battlefield fanboys, anyone?)

I can understand if you don't like a game, but Pokemon black and white in no way deserves a 1 out of 10. You say you are a pokemon fan, and this game is very similar to the previous installments. Most of the things that sucked you into the game are still here(unless you only liked 4th gen for the underground, which seems highly unlikely); therefore you like alot of the game. Maybe it gets old after awhile, but it's not the developer's faults if you played their previous games so much. Just imagine if this was your first pokemon game, instead of the tenth one or whatever. Then i imagine you would score it much higher.
