THE GOOD:
Characters, mini-games, object variety.

THE BAD:
Location variety, lack of direction.

SUMMARY:
If you like the Sims, and you like incredibly munchkinized versions of things, then no doubt this game will suit your fancy.
You play a Sim that you custom-create, who comes to a resort town that's not doing so well, and you're asked to help them bring in more tourists.

This version differs from most others in that you have no mood meters to maintain, like hunger or voiding your bladder.
Instead, your main task is to make the other characters happy by completing different tasks, and increasing your star rank until the town is booming with business.

The characters definitely have their own unique personalities, so finding a favorite isn't all that difficult a task.
The character types range from shop owners, to fisherman, to casino employees, to stuck-up fashion-conscious billionaires.
The tourists have their own style, and some semblance of individual personalities as well, and when you interact with them, you use a sequence of simple emotion/action commands to cheer them up, but you must do so within the time limit, or they could get angry with you.

The graphics, again, are very cute and colorful, and are thankfully short on glitches, the only two of which I noticed are that sometimes when you're custom-creating clothing, you'll get these white lines at the shoulders, and that sometimes, you can get caught on the corner of a desk or whatever for a few seconds while your Sim attempts to walk over to the person you want to talk to.

There are tons of fun mini-games to play, that are sure to keep you busy while you're running around trying to complete your other tasks, like raquetball, fishing, scuba-diving, treasure-hunting and sky-diving.

Gameplay is simple, you can use either your stylus or the controller to move your character around, interact with other Sims, and click on various objects.
They always give you detailed instructions on what controls to use for any mini-game, should you not be allowed to use either one of these control methods for it.
For example, the scuba-diving mini-game requires you use the controller and buttons alone, not the stylus.
The microphone is also incorporated into the Para-Gliding mini-game, you can blow into it to raise your character into the sky quickly.

The locations are interesting, albeit somewhat repetitive in a few areas, and I would have liked to have seen more of them, but as it stands, there are only five map screens if you don't count the two your houses are on.

And speaking of houses, the furniture shops and the casino prize machine have a great variety of things to put in your home, one could almost say too many good things, because I've filled up all the rooms in both my houses, and still have objects left over that I don't know what to do with.

Another small downside is that sometimes there's not a whole lot of direct information floating around that tells you how to get to your next star level, so you may find yourself wandering around, seemingly doing the same things over and over again until you discover what the next step is.

There's no real ending to speak of, and as far as replay value goes, there's not much of that either, unless you feel like seeing how quickly you can get to five stars again, otherwise, you're better off just perpetually playing your original file.

In conclusion, this game is fun, adorable, and definitely not a waste of money, especially if you like mini-games.
