Quoted from Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen Reviews:
Check out these quotes from Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen reviews & previews"Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen is a remake done right, and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving game. The original 8-bit classic -- originally published as Dragon Warrior IV -- is practically inaccessible these days. It's rare, it's expensive, it runs on the unreliable NES hardware, and it's reliant on aging batteries for saving progress. And frankly, the 8-bit Dragon Quests haven't aged well due to their garish colors, gratingly slow gameplay, and obtuse interface design. Yet beneath all of that is a stellar role-playing game, and the DS version casts aside all those flaws and frustrations to reveal the eminently playable role-playing experience beneath."
"Blue in the face."
"Yuuji Horii's Dragon Quest series is one of Square Enix's most popular franchise, so it makes sense that they're remaking the games one by one for the Nintendo DS, starting with Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. Released in Japan last year, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen has now been brought to North America, and Square Enix is expected to follow up with Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, as well as Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie on the handheld. Square Enix has made quite a few changes visually since the 1992 NES release, but the game looks similar to the Japanese PlayStation remake from 2001. "
"Chapters of the Chosen is a charming, absorbing, and addictively fun role-playing game that offers the best chance Westerners have ever had to experience Dragon Quest IV."
"Dragon Quest IV has always been a great game and this thorough reworking of the classic game shows just why that is. Both faithful to the original and to gamers looking for a quality adaptation, this port is just what fans deserve! "
