Very good graphics and story

SUMMARY:
If you have never heard of the word Shenmue before hopefully this little review will give you an idea, of this experience. Shenmue is not a movie or and RPG. It is an original game developed for the Sega Dreamcast. Over 3 years in developement with legendary game designer Yu Suzuki . The same man who made such classics as Space Harrier, Virtua Fighers, F355 Challenge, and many more.


Players assume control over a young 18 year old man as here goes about his destiny and figures out who murdered his father. His name is Ryo Hazuki and he does not take crap from anyone. Ryo is sometimes reckless, but he is a kind hearted kid.

Ryo has been taught the martial arts by his father, until Iwoa Hazuki was murdered for unknown reasons. Ryo is now determined to go about his destiny to solve the puzzels, and find his fathers murtder. Ryo's mother died at an early age, so he has been taught everthing there is to know by his la...

THE GOOD:
This game has the best graphics I had ever seen before the PS2 matched it, but even today, Shenmue is still a game of incredible graphics! The plot is fascinating, and reminds me of reading a really really good book. The gameplay is awesome! The fights are exciting, and challenging, the chases are intense! The character relationships are interesting, and learning new moves from your friends gives having friends more of a purpose.

THE BAD:
It isn't really bad, the end is relatively satisfying, and you know that the next game will have a lot more to it!

SUMMARY:
I love this game. This game has a lot of great quality. in its time it was one of the best games around, and it is still a good game, it's plot is almost unbeatable, and the gameplay is more than worth buying it for.

THE GOOD:
Graphics, sound, everything.

THE BAD:
Too short, leaves you wanting Shenmue 2.

Shenmue is definately a hot game, very fun.
Alot of people slag it because it was way too hyped, but if you play it expecting an excellent gaming experience, and not the best game of all time, you won't be dissapointed.

for a video game that proved too big for Sega's ill fated PSX rival.The concept being a go any where, look at anything adventure game with a very Cinematic feel and a complex and involving plot. Then Sega and co developed the 128 bit NAOMI arcade system,which Sega would use to power they're follow up to the Saturn,the Dreamcast.Yu had found the perfect platform for his big plan.In development for over four years with a massive team behind him,with a total cost of approx $70 milion dollars,Suzuki skilfully brought to fruition this ambitious project.The game it self had been the subject of rumour amongst Sega fans almost from the begining the hype machine rumbled into life.

Shenmue should be the greatest achievement of the modern creative era. Shenmue, is more than a very nice game, with good looking graphics and astonishing sound, that you will enjoy playing for a long period of time. Yu Suzukis creation is a wonder of art, that plays a huge role in the evolution of art through the years.

an completely fantastic game with the best grafics and a thoughtful storyline,just like real life. a game that must be played by all.

THE BAD:
come on guys,the is nearly perfect,but the agrees are the game does end short(in the middle of the story),and ends a bit out of the blue in many cases,plus is sometimes very confusing.

Its a nice day for the Hazuki family Ryo collecting his little figures, his father training in the dojo when all of a sudden, Lan Di steps in to ruin the day by killing Ryo's father!!

Now its up to Ryo to trace down Lan Di and give him the same treatment as he did to his father!

This game takes you to a new world where you are the character Ryo and you see your own father die in front of you you , being the good son you are you do the right thing and go searching for Lan Di the Person responsible, This takes you to serveral cities and then onto China but for that Adventure you will need to play Shenmue 2!!

First of all...: This has got to be THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME. I am totally in love with this game. Yu Suzuki has created a masterpiece that never ceases to amaze me each and everytime I play through it. It's not your traditional RPG.

Visuals: 10.0 These graphics are totally top-notch when compared to the rest of the Dreamcast games. The graphics are also even better than some next-gen console games. The models in this game are very well-done and life-like. The environments are detailed beautifully and really draw you into the game and time period. Nozomi's HAWT and she's the reason that this game gets an extra 5 points. Joking. This game's full of eye candy. But then there's eye poison named, Chai. Boy, is that guy ugly. lol. The only complaint I have is the dissolving characters. One moment, you're walking down the street and then some guy just appears in front of you. Out of nowhere. It's a slight annoyance and is not enought to take anything away from ...

Genre
Everybody considers Shenmue ''FREE'' even the makers, but to me it seems like an action RPG because the battle system you control the fighting which is just like Legend Of Mana/Secret Of Mana.

Story 9/10
The story is fantastic, your father has been killed and your looking to avenge his death, but with no idea whatsoever you have to walk around looking for clues.Which gives you the realistic feel that you don't find in other RPGs... here and these are the reasons:
1. Not everyone talks to you(in real life any stranger on the street would talk to you? imagine you were one of those teenager girls on the street and don't you think they would be scared if you tried to talk to them at night?).
2. You can't go in other people's houses while in other RPG's you can, which is another reality thing..(do you think you would let some stranger in your house and ask questions?)
3. Shops open and close at certain times.
4. People are actually moving around in and out of shops not just repeati...
