Background

The SEGA Dreamcast was SEGA's final console before they pulled out of hardware development. At 128-bit it was the first of it's generation to be released standing alongside the PS2, following after the SEGA Saturn. The system itself uses GD-ROMs, has four controller ports and it's own dial-up 33.6K modem for online gaming, game downloads and scoreboards as standard. The modem could also be upgraded to a 56K, or broadband. The memory cards, refered to as Visual Memory Units or VMUs, could be taken out of the controller and some games could download mini games onto them to be played seperate from the Dreamcast. During games the VMUs would sometimes display infomation and pixel art.
