About this Book

The Rock, one of the biggest stars in the history of the WWE, delves into his upbringing in The Rock Says. Born Dwayne Johnson, he grew up in the wrestling business, watching his father, second-generation wrestler Rocky Johnson perform in various locales around the world. He would go on to play college football at The University of Miami, and was a part of the Hurricanes team that won the National Championship in his Sophomore year, but dealt with injuries in his Freshman and Senior seasons.

After a failed attempt at making it in the Canadian Football League (CFL), he chose to follow in the footsteps of his father Rocky Johnson and his grandfather "High Chief" Peter Maivia and become a professional wrestler. The rest, as they say, is history, as The Great One would go on a meteoric rise through the ranks of the premier wrestling promotion in the United States: the World Wrestling Federation.

Amongst that which The Rock takes the millions...and millions...of Rock's fans on a tour of wrestling in the big time, and his own account of wrestling's Super Bowl: WrestleMania, including a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals with his big-match opponent Stone Cold Steve Austin, and his thoughts on the night in which Owen Hart died.
