Arthur Dent returns to Earth, 6 months after it was destroyed to make way for a Hyper Space Express-way. While trying to find out what the planet is doing there, he meets the girl of his dreams, who thinks the hallucinations everyone had of the ground being vapourised beneath their feet are a little more then CIA experiments gone wrong.
