Aopen Aeolus Ti4200S 8X: Card, Specs and Bundle

The Aeolus Ti4200S 8X, while sporting one of the more exotic names, is the most plain of all three cards. If you know AOpen, they are sometimes driven to supply innovative solutions like their Tube Sound series of motherboards, but at other times they cater to a more mainstream market. Such is the case here with the Aeolus 4200-8X card: other reviewers have praised this card as a good "barebones" card, and that it is.

The cooler design of the Aeolus is the simplest of the three cards both in terms of design and in terms of functionality. AOpen opted for no fancy cooling design, nor any special cooling for the RAM chips. You might think that in doing so they sacrificed some level of performance, but our test results would prove that assumption wrong. The AOpen, in fact, scores near the middle of the pack in our tests.
