O wait i know i can get a 5200 X2 for just under £210 What you reckon? stick it in there with the 8800 Sell the 7900gt and the 4200.

I'm trying to get an 8800GTX with an Intel Core 2 Duo...

Problem is, it appears to be stupidly hard to get a case that fits the thing, has decent cooling, and doesn't weigh a tonne! About the lowest weight one they're selling on the site I tried to get it from was about 15kg!

i found a pretty good case from kooance. only 11.3kg and is watercooled. one problem, cost. You'll know what I mean.

Don't say that until ATI fires back with the R600. Lets not forget, ATI is backed by AMD now(which has been supreme up until the C2D) and partners with Microsoft for Vista. many DX10 games will be tested and built around ATI's cards, so lets wait and see

Yes, I already worked out you need an unusually large case. The Thermaltake Armor should do the trick. But god its heavy.

Why not save some cash and get the gts, they are great overclockers. And the difference in minimum fps is small.Overclocked, you get an average of 5 extra fps, enough to get it above the 30 fps mark in some games.check out this site for some real benchmarks. Check out the second site for some overclocked comparisons.

I need the raw power of the GTX because of the resolution I have to play games at (1920x1200). The GTS just can't switch on the balls at that resolution.

I just ordered the EVGA 8800GTX. Tweaker says they "might" be comming out with the G81 within the next 90 days, and if they do, I can use EVGA's step up program.

The only reason I am buying top of the line right now is because my friend said he would pay 200 dollars for my x1900XT, that's about the going price used on Ebay.

I've been looking at all the benchmarks... Still looks like the GTX is worth it. But then again, that's because I don't really know how to interpret FPS...

I mean, is 80 FPS, for example, good, or bad? And does having about 140 for the GTX rather than 100 for the GTS mean the GTS is rubbish for a game in comparison? Or does FPS only matter when its under a certain value?

I don't really know whether I should get the GTX or the GTS. GTX would require an expensive and huge case. The GTS as far as I know wouldn't. Seeing as I'm getting the graphics card to go with an Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 and 4 GB of ram, what do you guys think? Is the GTX and related expense worth it?

I see the GTS can overclock quite well, to nearly as good as the normal GTX... But how the crap do you overclock a graphics card!?

You will want to OC your e6700 as much as possible to get the most out of the GTS or GTX.
