When it comes to computer hardware users are presented with an unusual situation. New hardware can be expected to release about every six months, and this holds true in the world of video cards as well. This may seem great, but these new cards usually perform around the same as two of the last gen cards. This puts users looking to upgrade in a tight spot regardless of the time of year. If the user is looking to upgrade at the release of new hardware they'll be faced with the choice of buying new hardware. Or adding a second card, which often times can be more affordable. Users upgrading later on in the year will be faced with a slightly harder choice. Should I upgrade, or should I wait for new stuff?
These choices aren't easy to make, especially because you're spending your own money. For this reason hardware manufacturers need to make their hardware appealing enough for users to spend there Mula. Companies are able to do this by releasing hardware that's unmatched in performance. Sometimes the hardware, in this case videocards, doesn't perform at the top of the charts. When this happens companies will add a multitude of cool add ons and features.
Today I'll be taking a look at VisionTek's 5870. At this point in time most users know that the 5870 does indeed perform at the top of the charts. So is it worth going to your local Fry's hardware store and purchasing one? Why should you purchase VisionTek's model? Let's take a detailed look at the card and find out.
