LAME 3.90.3 MP3 Encoding
A CD of roughly 700MB is converted to MP3 form using a command-line version of LAME. Despite assertions to the contrary, the Pentium 4 still has a couple legs up on the Athlon 64 line up when it comes to encoding times.
TMPGEnc MPEG2 Encoding
Not even the overclocked Venice can catch the P4 560 when it comes to MPEG2 encoding. The 530 puts in a great showing as well and comes up on top of the 3800+. The Venice comes up a few seconds ahead of the Winchester at 1.8 Ghz.
AutoGK Xvid Encoding
Intel runs away with XviD encoding as well and again, we see the Venice come out on top of the Winchester albeit the margin is still quite small.
