Today we will be looking at one of Thermaltake's latest offerings in the CPU cooling department, the Water 2.0 Extreme. Thermaltake is a leading manufacturer of computer accessories including cases, water cooling kits, case fans, the list goes on. Thermaltake's Water 2.0 Extreme is the next step up in the Water 2.0 series following the Water 2.0 Pro LCS and the Water 2.0 Performer LCS. Based on its siblings, the Water 2.0 Extreme LCS should prove to be a strong contender against the competition.
In manufacturing the Water 2.0 Extreme, Thermaltake utilized a process called Skived Fin technology to create the water block from a single piece of copper. This process helps to maximize the thermal conductivity of the water block when compared to traditional heatsinks where the fins are soldered onto a cold plate. Thermaltake used a 240mm x 25mm radiator with an overall cooling surface area of 4755 cm2, then equipped it with twin 120mm PWM fans capable of speeds ranging from 1200~2000RPM that can be controlled via any available 4-pin fan header on the motherboard. For maximum cooling performance it's recommended to install the fans in a push/pull configuration.

It'll be a while before I build a new computer (this one still has a good year in it, playing games at or near maximum settings).
