I will test the Thermaltake ISGC-200 on top of an Intel Core i7 system and record temperatures at both idle and load. Temperatures are gathered using the latest version of RealTemp. Results will then be compared with those of previously tested heatsinks.
Testing Setup
- Processor : Intel Core i7 920
- Motherboard : MSI X58M
- Video Card : nVidia GTX 260 Core 216
- Hard Drive : Seagate 7200.11 1000GB
- Power Supply : Mushkin XP-800AP
- Operating System : Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit


At stock settings, Thermaltake's ISGC-200 was easily able to cope with the fully loaded i7, keeping temperatures right under 60C. That is 5C above Noctua's flagship heatsink, although Thermaltake's product is quite a bit cheaper too. When overclocked, it still performs better than Intel stock cooler, fortunately. However, even though it has no problem keeping the heat under control when idle, the IGSC-200 can't quite keep up with an overclocked processor. At 94C, it still does better than Intel's design, but that doesn't mean it did well. Noctua is the only company capable of keeping the processor at somewhat reasonable 80C.
