I recently purchased this RW and I'll tell you, 11 out of 12 cd is now coasters. The problem is mainly with audio cd copying. and yes, i have changed my cd rom in the proces but still it does not do the job as in all the reviews i have read on the net. And dont try and contact Samsung about it because they reckon it is a "software problem or conflict" It is my biggest mistake I have made yet in upgrading my system which is: Win 98,20GB HD, 384 Mb Ram,Via motherboard and chipset, Celeron 600Mhx Proccessor. The firmware of the CD RW is BS O5 which the device was shipped with, and no upgrade is available yet on the net. I WILL NOT RECCOMEND THIS DRIVE TO THE POWER USER OR BEGINNER, IT IS HORSESHIT LOW QUALITY!

Chris, did you try using Easy CD Creator?

Yes i did use CD creator but that was not the problem. The problem was and is that the burner does not support "buffer underrun protection", which I have solved by installing software to enable the burner to use system memory to increase the measly 8 MB of burner memory to 80 MB of virtual memory which works fine now. NO THANKS TO SAMSUNG!!

"AHEAD NERO" -- Go "file" then "preferences" then click the "ultrabuffer" tab and increase it to 80MB

I have installed this CDR and I can't get NERO to allow me to burn a music CD. I doesn't identify the blank CD in the drive. It keeps asking me to put a CD in the drive. My system identifies it but not NERO.

Any ideas?

My drive has suddenly stopped reading CDs (any kind, data, audio, etc). I haven't had faultless operation from the drive, I have a set of coasters! But now it will not read. I have done all the basic things to test it, uninstall etc. I've pulled it apart to check for dust or hair on the laser reader. It still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Did anyone ever find that driver. Mine can't read the disc and has been like this for at least a year. I thought I'd try to install new drivers before replacing it.
