Soltek Qbic EQ3501 915G Cube - PAGE 6
Andy Zen - Monday, February 7th, 2005

BIOS

The BIOS for the Qbic is fairly robust. You have control over many of the options, including chipset voltage and PCI locking. You also have options to control fan sensitivity to temperatures, among other features. Memory options are limited, as you do not get control over memory clockspeeds but rather a ratio to the CPU clock.

Overclocking

Notwithstanding the limitations of the BIOS, we proceeded to overclock the heck out of the system anyway. As always, we are not responsible for any damage caused by overclocking nor should you expect the same results with your hardware - these only give a general idea of what you can expect. In any case, we managed to get this baby up to 252 Mhz. As usual, we suffered from instability and rebooting problems afterwards. This is a 25% increase, which is pretty impressive for a SFF, assuming temperatures can be kept in check (we did do extended testing for a few hours with the cover on and it seemed to hold up during that time).
