Where the motherboard is concerned, the Neptune features a high-end (surprise!) EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI. The most notable advantage of going with this mobo is that it offers three, full x16 lane PCIe slots (two are PCIe 2.0, while the third slot is PCIe 1.0.) This motherboard also supports up to 8GB of DDR3-2000 (PC3-16000) memory, and a max FSB of 1600.
As for the RAM, the Neptune comes filled to the gills with 4 GB's of Kingston HyperX DDR-1066 memory (four 1GB modules.) Unfortunately, are review system used a 32-bit Vista operating system, which, as you may know, does not enable the full use of the 4 GB's of RAM (a 32-bit OS can only access about 3.25 GB's of memory.) The memory is not overclocked, but sits very pretty running at 1066 MHz, with 7-7-8-24-T1 timings.
Here's the big picture (click to enlarge):

Last but not least, the Neptune has a very capable PSU: a Silverstone Decathlon DA1200, 1200W modular power supply. This is the most capable power supply offered by Silverstone, and it is certainly up to the task of delivering juice to the three GTX 280 cards.
The Neptune also comes with a custom painted Logitech G15 gamer keyboard, and a MX518 mouse, and two optical drives -- a CD/DVD combo RW drive and a Blu-Ray drive.

Now that we have gone over all of this rig's components, lets check out the most noticeable feature of this Smooth Creation: the outside of the Plexiglass case.
Let's start with the front:

As you can see, the front of the case looks great. Four 'S.C's stand in front of four 120mm fans. The front is painted and detailed thematically aquatic; and the painted gray border has a quasi-3D look to it.

Everything fits snug into the rear of the case.
As for the sides, one features Neptune himself, while the other features a mermaid with strategically placed, anti-wardrobe-malfunctioning sea shells.

Their airbrushing work is probably what Smooth Creations is most well-known for, and rightfully so. Both sides of the case look great. While a graphic designer co-worker of mine nit-picked that the mermaid's proportions were somewhat off, according to this reviewer, both sides will impress. And for a final touch, a blue cold cathode tube lights up the interior. The light helps with the spotting of your computer's internals through the transparent blue sides.
The Neptune was somewhat larger than the products our photo-booth usually accommodates, so it was difficult to take a good picture of the Neptune in all of its glory. Here is an image taken from the Smooth Creations site:
