Functionality and Hookups

Samsung has continually made improvements to their MP line of products. Back in November, when we looked at the 172 MP we complained about the lack of a DVI port which has since been remedied. The RCA and SVideo ports have migrated from the same area as the other input connectors to a seperate area in the back and finally in the 192MP, they are located directly at the side of the panel. This location is very easy to access and is especially useful for the headphone input. From a practicality standpoint, this is the best location for the A/V inputs yet. While it does not bother us, from an aesthetics standpoint some folk may not like the AV cables jutting out the side and ruining the symmetry of the screen.

The OSD on the 173MW we took a look at in March was excellent and the 192MP retains the same functionality that was found on the 173MW. A minor thing that is missing in the 192MP are the colored icons and the labelling. The stylized icons on the 192MP are by no stretch of the imagination bad, but they are not nearly as intuitive as the ones found on the 173MW. Switch back to the 173MW icons!

Good but Samsung already has better
