Aquamark is our DirectX 9 synthetic benchmark of choice. It has been able to avoid the circus and inconsistencies that has plagued 3DMark03. Aquamark is also the same engine that powers Aquanox 2 and Spellforce so it can be a rough indication of how those games perform. With the last generation of video cards, Aquamark managed to bring even the 9800XT to its knees during the explosion phase of the final scene.

The X800 XT and Pro manage to walk all over the 9800XT. The thing that is fairly amazing is that the X800 XT with AA / AF on is approximately the same speed as the 9800XT with everything off.
