Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell remains one of the more graphically demanding games even after close to a full year after its release. The performance of the various cards is shown clearly with pretty wide gaps between each model. Of particular note is the wide gap between the X800 XT and the Pro on Tbilisi 2 (the police station level). Again, performance is nearly double that of a 9800XT on this particular demo.
X2
One of the changes we made to the way we benchmark the X2- Rolling Demo is the addition of shadows. Before, the performance hit was quite severe and would not result in be a decent framerate state even with the 9800XT. We decided to see how well the X800 series fares with this option on. The X800 XT manages to pull off close to 50 fps at 1600 with 4x/8x. Again the performance difference is nearly 100% over the 9800XT.
Tomb Raider
Final Benchmark of the day is Tomb Raider. One of the changes that was made was the inclusion of Pixel Shader 2 shadows. One of the limiting factors seem to be memory bandwidth as both the 9800XT and the X800 Pro seem to bottom out between 2x AA and 4x AA.
